About the Role
As a part of the team, you'll be at the intersection of finance, insurance, and trade, contributing to Swiss Re's data-driven transformation journey. You'll work with a diverse team of professionals across multiple functions while developing your expertise in credit risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed credit risk assessments and financial analysis of financial institutions (banks, NBFIs)
- Recommend credit limits in alignment with internal policies and standards
- Track exposures and identify early warning signals to update risk ratings as needed
- Monitor macroeconomic trends and sector-specific risks to inform credit decisions
- Collaborate with other analysts on broader macro research projects and risk insight pieces
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and underwriters on credit matters
- Improve credit file productivity and processing efficiency to meet underwriting timelines
- Contribute to various data and technology driven transformation initiatives
About the Team
The Credit Product Centre reports directly to the Global Head of Credit & Surety (C&S) Corporate Solutions. Our team provides credit risk-based insurance solutions to banks and corporates in areas including Trade, Commodity and Project Finance, Surety, Political Risk Insurance, and Trade Credit Insurance.
We're a global team with presence in Sao Paulo, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Bangalore, and Singapore, responsible for leading strategic initiatives in risk assessment, providing high-quality credit risk assessments, conducting forward-looking analyses, ensuring compliance with standards and overseeing the Credit & Surety portfolio.
About You
You're an analytical thinker with a passion for financial markets and credit analysis. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy connecting economic developments to market performance. Your curiosity drives you to continuously learn, and you're excited about contributing to innovative solutions in the credit insurance space. We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience in credit analysis and credit-related work of financial institutions
- Strong academic background with a relevant post-graduate business degree (Commerce/Economics) or/and CFA / Chartered Accountant or similar qualification in finance
- Proficient in financial spreading, financial projections, and Excel (mandatory)
- Good knowledge and understanding of global macroeconomics, financial markets, and credit-related products
- Independent thinking with business curiosity and ambition to develop
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary and multicultural environments
- Self-starter mentality with ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience applying quantitative skills, business knowledge, and logical thinking to communicate key messages through visualization and presentation
- Prior experience in risk analytics, particularly quantitative credit analysis is preferred, but not mandatory
- Digital transformation project experience is preferred, but not mandatory
