This position is an exciting opportunity to join the Casualty Analytics function located in Bangalore. The focus of this role would be to design and support existing and future underwriting data and analytics landscape. With outcome-centric data skills and ability to formulate clear conclusions, you will ingest data from various sources, build data models for sustainable production-ready solutions and generate insights to help our stakeholders. You will explore options for integrating data between systems, highlight gaps and improve data quality. You will turn ideas into reality. The outcome of your work would be new dashboards in our analytics solution or even totally new data-driven solutions. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Data Management - Acquire and aggregate data from internal and external primary and secondary sources, designing and maintaining suitable data models

Insight Generation - Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in underwriting data

Visualization Development - Create visualizations, dashboards, and reports to present insights and explain findings to stakeholders and management

Analytics Infrastructure - Develop and maintain data and analytics pipelines to support data-driven decision-making. Optimize and enhance existing algorithms for efficiency and scalability

Performance Analysis - Analyze and interpret reports and data to effectively position recommendations to improve our underwriting performance

Trend Monitoring - Monitor key indicators and provide regular reporting on industry performance, underwriting trends and portfolio steering recommendations

Advanced Analytics - Apply machine learning and AI techniques to further advance analytics and automation
About the Team
Part of the Casualty Chief Underwriting Office and spread over three main locations, the Casualty Data & Analytics team aims to provide a one-stop shop for all analytics needs of Casualty Underwriting, Actuarial and Steering teams to help Swiss Re take the best underwriting decisions.

About You
We are happy to meet you if you possess:

University degree in Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics and 4+ years of relevant working experience

Demonstrated ability to analyze significant data volumes, draw clear conclusions and communicate them to stakeholders

Hands-on technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques

Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python or R) and reporting/data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau/Power BI)

Passion for Agile principles and excitement to embed them into daily work

A continuous improvement mindset and dedication to uncovering better ways of working

"CAN DO" mentality and willingness to learn new technologies to continuously upskill

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences

Basic knowledge of (re)insurance concepts is a plus
