About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of Compliance professionals providing Compliance enabling support and advisory to a dynamic, growing Global Business Solutions Centre in SR India (Bangalore and Hyderabad). You will be responsible for identifying and assessing Compliance risks within the business, as well as providing training on key Compliance topics. You will work alongside and support the GBS India based Compliance team and report to the Head of Compliance - India. The role requires frequent interaction with senior stakeholders in the business and other enabling functions on a regular basis.
The principle accountabilities include:
- Carry out Compliance activities in alignment with the GBS India Compliance Programme
- Promote and drive a strong Compliance and integrity culture
- Provide training and awareness to local staff during Induction and on Compliance topics
- Communicate Compliance requirements to business colleagues and support with the development of related processes and controls.
- Advocate adherence to Compliance Policies & Standards and promote ethical behaviours
- Support with the preparation and submission of Compliance reports both internally and externally
- Respond to queries from the business on Compliance related topics, acting as both a business enabler and a control function
- Participate in, and contribute to, wider regional and global initiatives to support delivery of the Annual Compliance Plan
- Actively participate and support in the GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) council related initiatives for Swiss Re India
- Develop subject matter expertise on local regulatory requirements and Swiss Re Policies & Standards
About the Team:
The Compliance Asia team consists of professionals based in various locations across Asia who are passionate about delivering outstanding enabling and risk mitigation support to internal clients to ensure business is conducted in a compliant and ethical manner. You will work closely with these colleagues and also have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across other regions as part of a global division
About You:
- University degree or equivalent preferred,
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken), other languages a plus
- A minimum of 7+ years of overall work experience is desirable
- A solid understanding and practical experience in risk management, internal control frameworks, and control self-assessments is desirable.
- Experience or certification in compliance or risk management would be a desirable advantage.
- Experience in an international financial services environment a plus, particularly insurance
- Proficient in developing power-point presentations for Executive Management, devising excel dashboard for reporting and tracking exceptions along with a flair for report writing skills.
- Collaborative style, effective, open, and transparent communication skills, and strong networking, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Solid understanding of risk, particularly compliance risks, a desirable plus
- Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-pace
