Corporate Actuarial Analyst

About th Role

 

  • Deliver quarterly valuation results for APAC business to the relevant Reporting Actuaries through L&H valuation systems. Ownership of other reserving tasks such as IFRS17, capital calculations, assumption setting/ testing, Sensitivities etc.
  • Perform end to end functional testing, process (setting up the runs to analyzing the numbers) to support the APAC L&H Valuation Risk Management team.
  • Understand APAC business and work on System Process and Landscape developments, model improvements, data flow automation, IFRS accounting standards implementation etc.
  • Work under multiple reporting regimes: IFRS17, statutory and other local reporting, as well as providing input into the internal risk model and solvency reporting (STAT, IFRS)
  • Work on tight deadlines escalating risk and issues. Discuss issues and potential solutions to the team lead or manager.
  • Document process & controls for Internal & External auditors.

 

About the Team

 

We are one of the pioneer team to get into the global valuation processes that Swiss Re has been targeting and involved in end-to-end aspects of Swiss Re APAC reporting. i.e., starting from Data handling until explaining the movements in reporting figures.

 

About You

 

  • Degree in business, finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related discipline
  • Additional diploma or certification in actuarial sciences or student with minimum 2 to 3 Actuarial papers preferred.
  • Around 0 to 1 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance, life, or health insurance products
  • Knowledge of risk management from the actuarial science point of view
  • Strong analytical skills, along with proficiency in independent thinking and problem solving. 
  • Knowledge of common statistical software and tools, expertise in MS suits like Excel Spreadsheets, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, VBA and SQL will be an added advantage.
  • Experience with Actuarial systems, Process, system testing and market consistent valuation and/or IFRS17 an advantage.
