Corporate Actuarial Analyst
About the Role:
- Interpret and understand the underlying actuarial business requirements to interpret both the system implications, and associated testing requirements, but also the potential financial impacts that could occur and need explaining.
- Full independent working when identifying and documenting 'best practice' Test plans and Test scenarios for actuarial systems using a suite of materials developed by the Business analysts (BA's) and bReserving team Business leads with major focus on the technical changes and their impacts on the BAU.
- Providing feedback during the planning stages to the document owners where further clarity is required or where information should be challenged. Test execution of Test scenarios, results gathering and coordinating with leads to ensure that the results reviews, and final approvals are fully resourced & actioned.
- Leading review sessions, walking through the actuarial functionality technical aspect of Test plans and scenarios to obtain an approval by the BA's, and Stakeholders, whom will be expected to give final approval of the Test results.
- Identifying Test data needs to support the Test execution along with setting out expected results by way of detailed calculations/explanations where necessary.
- Input to and ownership within the Defect management lifecycle, ensuring that issues are recorded and investigated on a timely basis so that issues can be either be resolved through assistance or fixed and retested as Bugs.
- Advising Test leads of progress during the Test stages, taking ownership of resolving any issues or limitations that require further consideration & ensuring all work is on target.
- Responsibility for ensuring that the VR&A Change Management Lifecycle (CCF) is observed throughout the Releases so we comply with any Financial Audits. This also includes ensuring that all approval materials and Test evidence are stored appropriately for future review.
- Further contribution to and ownership of materials pertaining to education and training of Workstream or Business regional users including hosting Training sessions, providing details for Wiki pages and onboarding support during LHVT Business Test cycles which take place after UAT.
About the Team:
Actuarial Operations and Solutions (AOS) plans, builds, operates, and improves Swiss Re's global actuarial systems and processes for Life & Health business. We own and operate Swiss Re's largest application and database which is used by regional valuation teams, Finance, Portfolio Management, Risk Management, and other business-steering departments. We comprehend business challenges in order to provide solutions and make strategic decisions that will help the valuation landscape in preparing for the future by launching or supporting projects. We have about 15+ team members spread across the globe, including Toronto, Armonk, Bangalore, London, and Zurich. Our strengths stem from the diverse backgrounds and skills of our team members including actuarial (pricing, valuation, AXIS modelling, product development, risk management), testing, information technology, and project management.
About You:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- 1 - 2 years of experience working in the L&H primary insurance/reinsurance or consulting domain, detailed knowledge about Life & Health products would be a plus.
- Actuarial students with 2-3 exams, CM1 as must and relevant experience in actuarial system testing
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Mathematics/Statistics/Economics, Good knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive the change
- Knowledge on actuarial valuation process and SR Valuation landscape will be an added advantage
- Strong and proven ability to work autonomously and accurately.
- Ability to work in a diversified functional environment across IT, Actuarial and Finance
- Passion to deliver and stick to deadlines. Strong data organisation and analysis skills.
- Advancing toward actuarial qualification would be advantageous but is not required.
