About the Role
As a Data Analyst within the Digital & Management Information team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering impactful, end-to-end solutions that elevate the effectiveness and efficiency of internal auditing. Working in a dynamic, agile environment, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technology — translating complex requirements from Group Internal Audit (GIA) into smart, scalable solutions using cutting-edge reporting and automation technologies. This is a role where your analytical expertise truly matters and your contributions will be felt across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements from Group Internal Audit (GIA) into end-to-end technology solutions, leveraging GIA's existing applications, reporting tools, and automation technologies
- Design and develop data analytics solutions that improve the quality, speed, and efficiency of internal audit activities
- Collaborate with IT teams and end users to manage all ongoing application support activities, ensuring systems run smoothly and reliably
- Identify and implement improvements to existing processes, tools, and workflows to continuously enhance GIA's operational capabilities
- Ensure compliance with Swiss Re's technology-related internal policies, supporting GIA in maintaining governance and control standards
- Apply agile working practices (e.g., Scrum) to deliver solutions iteratively, responding quickly to evolving business needs
- Explore and integrate Gen AI solutions to drive innovation and modernise audit analytics capabilities
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders across audit, IT, and business functions, communicating complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible way
About the Team
Group Internal Audit (GIA) is a globally respected function that provides independent and objective assurance to the Board of Directors and Group Executive Committee, safeguarding the assets, reputation, and long-term sustainability of Swiss Re. The team conducts audit activities designed to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the Group's internal control systems — and to drive meaningful improvements across the organisation's operations.
At GIA, people are at the heart of everything. The team is built on a culture of intellectual curiosity, collaboration, and continuous development — attracting and nurturing critical thinkers and emerging leaders who bring passion, rigour, and a drive to perform. Within GIA, the Digital & Management Information team is at the forefront of harnessing technology and data to transform how auditing is done — making it smarter, faster, and more impactful.
About You
You are a curious, structured, and solutions-oriented professional who loves working with data and technology to solve real business problems. You bring a sharp analytical mind, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity and confidence. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and delivering results in a fast-paced, agile environment. Whether you are early in your career or bring years of experience, what matters most is your passion for innovation, your attention to detail, and your commitment to making a meaningful impact.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python), with demonstrated ability to analyse and process significant volumes of data
- Experience with reporting and data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI, with a track record of delivering clear, actionable insights to business stakeholders
- Proven experience translating business requirements into technology solutions and supporting those applications post-deployment
- Hands-on experience with agile working practices (e.g., Scrum), contributing effectively within cross-functional, iterative delivery teams
- A big-picture thinker who can identify overarching themes, trends, and opportunities while maintaining rigorous attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to build trusted relationships and deliver difficult messages with professionalism and empathy
These are additional nice to haves:
- Experience working with Generative AI (Gen AI) solutions and an interest in applying AI to analytics
- Background in internal audit, risk management, compliance, or other assurance functions
