About the Master Data Management (MDM) Team
-
We are a team of expert business analysts and data/software engineers, spread across multiple locations around the globe, driving the MDM function at Swiss Re.
-
We are responsible for delivering all stages of software development including business analysis, design, development, testing, roll-out, and operational management for nearly 1000 master and reference data sets.

We are the primary contact for our internal clients and business partners for the MDM processes, technology platform, and data domain expertise.
About the Role
-
You will work closely with senior developers, architects, and business analysts to design, build, and maintain web services that support Swiss Re’s enterprise MDM platform.

Support the development of Java-based integration services, including RESTful APIs, using Spring Boot and SQL databases.

Assist in troubleshooting and resolving incidents, problems, and change requests related to services you help build or maintain.

Participate in code reviews, testing cycles, and documentation activities.

Support deployments and gain hands-on exposure to cloud environments (preferably Azure) and DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure services are reliable, performant, and aligned with MDM architecture and data quality expectations.
About You
-
You have a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.

You bring a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Java development or building web services.

Good understanding of Java (Core), Spring Boot, and SQL; exposure to ORM frameworks like Hibernate is a plus.

Familiarity with RESTful API design and modern development tools such as Git and Maven.

Exposure to cloud technologies (preferably Microsoft Azure), CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or Terraform is an added advantage.

Strong problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn new technologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with global teams.

Experience or interest in MDM, data integration, or enterprise data platforms is a strong differentiator.
