About the Data Discovery Team 

 We are a team of expert business analysts, Data Architects, and software engineers, spread across multiple locations around the globe, driving the Enterprise Data Governance to enable to manage 'Data as an asset' within Swiss Re. 

 We work with our data experts, data owners and data consumers and provide them with well-governed data which helps to build Logical & Analytical Data Model for our Data Scientists to prepare data models and business insights. 

 

About the Role  

We are seeking an experienced Palantir Foundry Developer to join our data engineering and governance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development and hands-on expertise in building applications, workflows, and data pipelines on the Palantir Foundry platform. This role involves close collaboration with business and data teams to deliver scalable data solutions and workflow automation. 

  • Design, develop, and maintain Foundry-based applications, workflows, and data pipelines using Workshop, Code Repositories, and Contour. 

  • Perform backend development using PySpark, Python and SQL to support data processing, transformation, and integration. 

  • Implement ETL frameworks, ensuring data quality, lineage, and governance compliance. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into Foundry solutions. 

  • Optimize performance, manage versioning, and ensure best practices in CI/CD and source control (Git) 

  • Develop unit tests using Pytest and follow best coding practices. 

 

 

About You  

  • You have a bachelor's degree in information management, computer science  

  • 3+ years of experience in frontend development using React and TypeScript. 

  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3. 

  • Experience working with GraphQL or REST APIs. 

  • Familiarity with Palantir Foundry, Ontology SDK, or other large-scale data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, etc.) 

  • Understanding of state management (Redux, Zustand, or similar). 

  • Strong focus on UI/UX, accessibility, and responsive design. 

  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile workflows 

  • Proficiency in Java Script, Python, SQL, and object-oriented programming for backend data processing and service development. 

  • Hands-on experience with data pipelines, ETL design, and data governance / lineage implementation. 

  • Hands-on experience with Pytest for testing. 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 

  • Over 5 years of working experience as backend developer 

  • Over 4 years of working experience as UI developer using TypeScript 

  • Experience with Data Governance implementation is a Plus 

 

Must Have 
 

  • Hands on with PySpark, Python, Pytest and UI development using React and TypeScript 

  • Familiar with Git, CI/CD 

  • Familiar with JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3 

 

Good to Have 

  • Experience with Data Governance implementation 

  • Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry. 

  • Experience building low-code/no-code interfaces or data visualization tools. 

  • Familiarity with Blueprint.js, Material UI, or Palantir’s internal component libraries. 

  • Experience with backend integration, especially Node.js or Python for data services.
