About the Role:

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Data Governance Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will support the implementation and operationalization of data governance practices, ensuring data quality, compliance, and accessibility across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional eager to contribute to the organization’s data-driven culture.

Day-day in the role will include the following (but not limited to)

 

Data Governance Operations:

 

Assist in implementing and maintaining data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
Support data stewardship activities, ensuring adherence to data standards and practices.
Collaborate with data owners to define and maintain data quality rules and metrics.

 

Data Quality Management:

 

Help shape data quality metrics and collaborate with teams to ensure effective monitoring and steering.
Perform root cause analysis for data inconsistencies and implement corrective actions.
Ensure continuous improvement of data quality processes.

 

Data Issue Management:

 

Identify, document, and manage data issues, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
Develop and maintain an issue management workflow, including prioritization, escalation, and resolution tracking.
Partner with teams to prevent recurring data issues through process improvements and preventive measures.

 

Data Education and Training:

 

Help with designing and delivering training programs to educate stakeholders on data governance principles, policies, and best practices.
Develop resources, such as guides and toolkits, to support data literacy and governance awareness.
Foster a culture of data ownership and responsibility through regular workshops and communication campaigns.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration:

 

Work closely with business and technical teams to understand data needs and challenges.
Serve as a key contact for day-to-day data governance activities and inquiries.
Facilitate training sessions to promote awareness of data governance principles and practices.

 

Documentation and Reporting:

 

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of data governance practices, workflows, and guidelines.
Prepare reports on data governance performance, including progress on initiatives and data quality improvements.

 

Metadata Management:

 

Contribute to the development and maintenance of metadata repositories and data catalogues.
Promote the effective use of metadata tools to enhance data understanding and accessibility.

 

About the Team:

 

Property & Casualty (P&C) Enabling Unit – We're a team of global experts who steer the development and execution of P&C Re's Digital Transformation & Data Foundation strategy. We own and develop Operations' core system landscape and e2e operational reporting capabilities. We drive process alignment, simplification and continuously improve our digital operating platform and how we connect internally and externally to make us better to work with - and work for!
This role is specifically part of the Data Foundation & Reporting team (within Enabling), which ensures strong data integrity that drive data driven decision making within P&C.

 

About You:

 

Experience:

 

3-8 years of demonstrable experience as a data governance practitioner or relevant data management fields.
Good understanding of enterprise data management principles, data quality frameworks, and metadata management.
Proven experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
Results orientation with a clear track record of execution and pragmatism in prioritization—a "safe pair of hands."

 

Technical Skills:

 

Hands-on experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, or similar)
Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
Project management experience will be beneficial.

 

Soft Skills:

 

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships in a multi-cultural environment.
Dedicated and able to work independently as well as with global teams.
Attention to detail: A passion for detail while keeping the big picture in mind.
Positive mindset and passion for solving problems, curiosity for learning new concepts, and enthusiasm for experimentation.
Should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity (e.g., ability to handle diversity and work in a matrix organization).
Openness and flexibility to take on new tasks and challenges.
Please note that the final seniority/corporate band for this role will be decided based on the successful candidate.
