Head Governance & Data Management
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Head of Governance and Data Management. You will be leading a team of 3-4 of technical and business experts in understanding, defining, and implementing robust Data Governance processes and solutions across different regions. As a data driven company, we must build trust and ownership of our data assets, therefore the role will involve collaborating closely with senior level executives. Your expertise in data governance, regulatory compliance, and data management will be critical in ensuring data quality, integrity, and alignment with industry best practices within SFRM. Data protection and automation are on top of your mind, and you will interact closely with Business Leads, Technical Leads and Group Functions to build engagement, custodian-and stewardship of our internal data assets to ensure data governance policies along with data quality requirements are well defined and applied.
- The role will sit with Solvency and Financial Risk Management (SFRM) within the wider Risk Management department.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with data governance standards, improving data quality, and managing data-related risks.
- Drive Data Quality topics, both operationally and strategically. Liaise between SFRM and RM/Group-wide data strategy forums.
- Responsible for updating Internal Model Data Quality Standards.
- Responsible for data management framework for Financial Market Risks, Credit Risks, Master data and third-party data strategy.
- Responsible for other governance topics such as Information identification and management, Process standards, Information system manager, EUA coordination, etc.
- Overseeing SFRM's process and control documentation strategy.
- Project Management as required.
- Team Management responsibility of 3-4 FTEs.
- Responsible to manage Internal Model Governance activities.
About the Team:
SFRM is the Group-wide center of competence for risk aggregation and solvency assessments as well as control of the Group’s financial risks.
We provide transparency on Group-level risks, quantifying and monitoring risk accumulations as well as diversification, thereby empowering the Group to make informed risk and solvency decisions. We also manage the Group's Risk Governance by establishing the high-level risk policies and standards that establish the Risk Control Framework for the Group.
We are also responsible for the Group's financial risk control. We capture, aggregate and control the accumulation of financial risks, irrespective of their source. We lead the execution risk-taking oversight for Asset Management, Principal Investments, Treasury and Alternative Capital Partners, as well as support other Risk Management teams with their control of risk taking where material financial risks are present.
The department comprises two main areas: Solvency Risk Management and Financial Risk Management.
About You:
- 7-10 years of experience working with capital markets or insurance industry.
- Experience in data governance, data management, or a related field is required. This includes experience in leading data governance initiatives, managing data quality, and implementing data governance frameworks.
- Experience in data management tools and technologies, as well as a strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
- Experience in managing large data sets in the Financial Market and Credit risk area.
- Strong leadership and management skills to effectively lead a team and collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization. This includes the ability to drive change and influence others to adopt data governance practice.
- Project management experience a plus.
- Strong written communication in English.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
