In-force Management Expert

This role offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with teams both regionally and globally across the entire Property & Casualty (P&C) value chain.

 

About the Role

 

You will be responsible for overseeing scheduled activities and ensuring timely execution of contractually agreed tasks. In addition, you will support the In-force Managers by monitoring the Reinsurance portfolio and taking ownership of Analytics- and Commutation tasks.

 

This In-force Management Analyst role is based in Bangalore, operating with a high level of autonomy and accountability while supporting In-force Management teams worldwide. You will work closely with UW Product Portfolio Managers, providing support and challenge where needed, while jointly ensuring portfolio performance in line with Reinsurance Smart Circle processes and responsibilities.

 

As part of the role, you will also contribute to our Data & Analytics strategy, engaging stakeholders at both Product and Market levels. Furthermore, we are exploring the use of GenAI solutions to enhance our analytics activities.

 

These activities may include:

 

  • Collaborating closely with global In-force Management teams.

 

  • Proactively monitoring the P&C Re In-force portfolio to anticipate risks in business performance, delivering portfolio analytics for monitoring and steering the UW Portfolio, and driving cross-functional collaboration as a champion for Operations.

 

  • Experimenting with innovative GenAI approaches to address analytical challenges and strengthen decision-making.

 

  • Participating in UW Portfolio cross-functional team (XFT) meetings, including setting agendas, documenting discussions, and preparing minutes.

 

  • Analyzing and interpreting financial results under the various valuation methods used within Swiss Re.

 

  • Delivering flexible analytics solutions tailored to MU-, Claims-, and UW needs.

Our newly established In-force team in Bangalore works closely with the local P&C Re UW teams and direct reports into P&C Operations, In-force Management. We are a culturally diverse team, operating in a dynamic environment with significant impact on the strength and performance of Swiss Re’s reinsurance business.

 

The division encompasses Claims Management, Technical Accounting, Business Services, Business Excellence (Governance, Data Enabling, Consulting), Transaction Management and In-force Management.

 

The In-force Management team’s focus is on maintaining a healthy portfolio while supporting Swiss Re’s P&C business growth objectives in a sustainable way. We deliver value through profitability, efficiency, control, and client benefit.

About You

 

You are a solution-driven professional with strong technical expertise, creativity and innovative thinking. With excellent communication, strategic agility, and strong organizational skills, you actively contribute to decision-making and strategy implementation.

 

Additional requirements:

 

  • Highly motivated, engaged, proactive, and an excellent team player.

 

  • Strong analytical skills, high proficiency with numbers and data, and advanced Excel expertise.

 

  • Great interest in experimenting with creative GenAI approaches to address analytical challenges and become smarter.

 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Property & Casualty (Re)insurance industry.

 

  • Preferred experience with accounting and claims tools (SICS, CREW, etc.)

 

  • Preferred good experience in Power BI, with the ability to design, develop, and interpret dashboards and reports for business insights.

 

  • Preferred experience in Claims, Portfolio Management, Underwriting, and Data Analytics.

 

  • Strong relationship builder who engages effectively with others, fosters commitment, and maintains a cross-functional perspective while constructively challenging peers in and outside Operations.

 

  • Experienced in leading colleagues through example and motivation, as well as influencing key stakeholders.

 

  • Proven change management experience is essential.
