About the team and the role

P&C Solutions is one of the three pillars within Swiss Re Reinsurance. The pillar aims to add value to clients’ original business by providing solutions and services across the value chain. The P&C Analytics Solutions team channels and develops solutions and services for our clients across the (re)-insurance value chain. Our clients' needs are at the heart of what we do, as we make sure that our solutions and services help our clients grow and make commercial sense. Property analytics lead will be a part of the data science and analytics team and will be leading the product build for better property insurance risk assessment across the geographies.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 6-7 data scientists and data analysts
  • Develop new predictive and prescriptive models according to the product owner needs and subject-matter experts
  • Test and evaluate internal as well as external vendor ready Catastrophic models
  • Explore new data sources for improvement of the current model
  • Maintenance of existing models (re-training for new clients, expansion)
  • Document all the models and maintain the versions
  • Develop/maintain dashboards that give competitive insights to the clients

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 10+ Years of industry experience with a quantitative background (engineering, statistics, economics)
  • Strong experience in multivariate non-linear modelling (ML, AI), also in traditional modelling techniques (linear regression analysis, time-series analysis)
  • Very well versed with the latest modelling and visualization packages in R and/or python
  • Abie to produce high-quality, secure, and maintainable code in an agile environment (GIT etc.)
  • Worked in the insurance industry and focus on property insurance
  • Experience in working in an analytical product build environment will be a strong plus
  • Experience in geospatial models (e.g. satellite image recognition) and computer vision preferred
  • Experience with MS Azure Machine learning platform as a plus
