About the role

You will join a small inter-disciplinary global team of researchers responsible for shaping the narrative that underpins the next phase of growth for Swiss Re. Our findings are communicated both internally and externally, through our thought leadership reports, client webinars, and media interviews. Our research is data-driven, and leverages new statistical techniques to develop ground-breaking insights. In all cases you will be expected to contribute ideas, relevant research, and writing / synthesizing of key findings to these projects.

Principal responsibilities for this position will include:

  • Driving our end-to-end research process, including competitor intelligence, idea-generation, thematic concept development, expert interviews, analytical examination and co-authoring of published reports & presentations.
  • Communicating findings to internal clients (senior leadership) and external clients (via our Client Management and Solutions workforce), and build and maintain relationships with external thought leaders at industry events.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large data sets and providing research support in collaboration with SRI global teams as well as different external stakeholders.
  • Assist internal data teams in implementing code in the context of larger workflows to improve data curation & visualization


Position requirements (education, linguistic ability, professional experience, technical skills, soft skills):

  • Master's degree in Management/MBA, (or equivalent) with focus on finance from a premier institute
  • Quantitative research, or business consulting background, specialization in Statistics, Economics, (or equivalent).
  • Well versed in analysis of financial institutions, balance sheet and solvency analysis
  • Financial analytics background or Level 2 CFA candidates preferred
  • Knowledge of analytical tools (R, Python, and STATA), to draw insights from large data sets
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a strong service-oriented approach to communicate with various global teams. Excellent command of English.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize fragmented information from multiple sources into a coherent summary by driving insights, and to develop structured communications through engaged methods that are easy to understand
  • At least two years of working experience (preferably insurance and financial services/research/consulting)
