Lead IT Product Owner (SAP GL Reporting)
About the Role
As a Lead IT Product Owner, you will own the technical solution and delivery of SAP General Ledger (GL) Reporting. You ensure that the solution is feasible, scalable, compliant, and operationally stable, while aligning business needs with technical execution.
You act as the key interface between Business Product Owners and the engineering team, ensuring that requirements are translated into implementable solutions and that delivery is predictable, transparent, and aligned with enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the technical solution and end‑to‑end delivery of SAP GL Reporting application, ensuring feasibility, scalability, and alignment with enterprise architecture
- Delivery planning and product backlog management with the Business Product Owner, ensuring alignment between business priorities and technical readiness
- Translate business needs into clear, implementable technical requirements, and ensure transparent delivery with visibility on progress, risks and dependencies
- Work closely with the engineering and development team to ensure smooth execution and delivery of technical components
- Guide and support Technical Business Analysts in refining requirements into high-quality technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Manage system dependencies, including upstream and downstream integrations, and ensure alignment across teams and systems
- Ensure operational readiness and stability, including incident and change management, security, access management, and monitoring
About the Team
You will join an established international product team responsible for the global SAP GL reporting solution, enabling regulatory financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
The SAP GL Reporting team is part of the Product Area Reporting & Analytics within Data & Technology Finance. Our solutions support financial reporting, reconciliation, steering, and auditing, leveraging SAP S/4 HANA Finance.
About You

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, financial, or business-related field
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing SAP S4 HANA reporting and AFO (Analysis for MS Office) solutions
- Functional knowledge of SAP GL related to Reporting (incl. Fiori)
- Hands-on experience with ABAP CDS Views (Consumption, Composite, Basic, Hierarchy, etc.) and proficiency in SQL
- Significant experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within a data- or technology-driven environment, ideally in Finance or Reporting & Analytics
- Proven track record operating as a Senior Reporting Business Analyst within SAP landscapes, skills in defining and delivering pragmatic reporting solutions as part of large, complex, multi-geography, transformations
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge business and technology and influence at multiple seniority levels.
- Ability to translate business requirements into implementable technical solutions, balancing feasibility, scalability, and delivery constraints
- Strong command of Agile ways of working, with hands‑on experience guiding and collaborating with cross‑functional product and engineering teams.
Additional Relevant Experience (Good to Have)
- Exposure to ServiceNOW for incident/problem management
- Experience and knowledge of Financial Products Subledger (FPSL)
