ORM Governance Analyst

About the Role:

 

As an Operational Risk Data Analyst within the Group Functions Risk Management (GFRM) team,you will play a key role in shaping the future of operational risk management at Swiss Re. You'lldesign and deliver end-to-end technology and analytics solutions that enhance the effectivenessand efficiency of operational risk activities — helping the business stay ahead of risk in adynamic and ever-evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Translate business requirements from Operational Risk Management (ORM) into practical,end-to-end technology solutions using existing ORM applications and available reportingand automation technologies
  • Analyse significant volumes of operational risk data to generate actionable insights thatsupport decision-making across the organisation
  • Design, develop and maintain reporting solutions using data visualisation tools (e.g.,Tableau) to communicate risk information clearly and effectively to stakeholders
  • Write and optimise SQL queries and Python scripts to automate data processes, improvedata quality, and streamline reporting workflows
  • Support and maintain existing applications and solutions, ensuring they continue to meetevolving business needs and remain fit for purpose
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement through robotic process automation (RPA)and other emerging technologies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments to gather requirements, presentsolutions, and ensure alignment with the broader ORM framework
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing within the team and across risk management functions,fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation
  • Balance multiple priorities simultaneously, moving fluidly between detailed analytical workand strategic, big-picture thinking

 

About the Team:

 

The ORM Governance team sits within Group Functions Risk Management (GFRM) and isresponsible for defining and monitoring the consistent application of the Operational Riskframework across Swiss Re. The team plays a central role in ensuring that operational riskpractices are robust, transparent, and aligned with Swiss Re's risk appetite and strategicobjectives. Working at the heart of the organisation, the team collaborates with stakeholdersglobally to drive continuous improvement in how operational risk is identified, assessed, andmanaged.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

 

  • 5+ years' experience in operational risk management, non-financial risk governance, control governance, or a comparable governance/control environment
  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Proficiency in SQL with demonstrated experience writing complex queries for dataextraction, transformation, and analysis
  • Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python) applied to data analysis,automation, or solution development
  • Hands-on experience with reporting and data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau) to builddashboards and communicate insights to non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse large and complex data sets and translate findings intoclear, actionable recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a convincing andpersuasive communication style
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and transition smoothly betweendetailed analytical tasks and high-level strategic thinking
  • Superb interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build andmaintain professional networks across departments
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and a genuine passion for knowledge sharing andmentoring

 

These are additional nice to haves:

 

  • Experience with robotic process automation (RPA) tools and methodologies
  • Good understanding of enterprise risk management concepts, particularly operational riskframeworks
  • Experience in a role where business requirements are translated into technology solutions,including ongoing application support

 

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office atleast three days per week.
