Practice Lead Technical Accounting

Are you proactive, passionate about improving processes and operations? Can you bring processes to life and keen on making an impact?

If yes, then we have an opportunity for you to join the CoE (Centre of Excellence) team in APAC.

In this regional role the main responsibility is lead design, optimize and maintain fit for purpose processes that are efficient, effective and compliant.

You will drive continuous improvement by working and partnering with the business to identify improvement areas and structuring, planning, leading and supporting multi-functional projects from conceptualization through to implementation while ensuring process consistency, standardization and alignment.

This role requires working very closely with the Global Technical Accounting practice lead, regional service operations and technical accounting team to streamline, harmonize and improve processes. This requires building strong understanding of processes and systems used in different locations to identify best methodologies and recommend and implement new streamlined and optimized processes and/or systems.

Identify local improvements and lead implementations to completion. Change management and process consistency are essential for the designed processes to come to life in the business and you will be crucial to ensuring that this is in place.

  1. Practice Lead:
  • Ensure regional process standardization and improvement, reviewing, documenting and where possible aligning standard methodologies globally
  • Drive continuous improvement and ensure scalability of processes
  • Analyze, define and document business processes to drive process improvement. Complete “as is" and “to be" process flow descriptions and diagrams
  • Identify and document local deviations from the global process. Work with sub regions and locations to ensure new standards are followed
  • Drive decisions by analyzing data and providing insights
  • Structure and deliver creative solutions whilst remaining practical, collaborating with other PEX (Process Excellence) Lead, functional leaders and regional service ops
  • Actively work with IT team and local teams in APAC to support design of end-to-end processes and ensuring the same embeds well with other processes and services
  • Regional point of contact for technical accounting process related topics
  • Support the implementation of global technical accounting landscape change within APAC
  • Provide subject matter expertise on technical accounting domain

Position requirements

This role requires tolerance to ambiguity and track record in Process Excellence/Process Improvement. Developing a topic from a starting point to a problem statement, building consensus, identifying and triggering decision paths and driving the topic to completion independently is key. Experience in facilitating different levels of conversations as a strong communicator. Ability to distil and present topics appropriate for all levels and collaborate across all associated functions, regions and hierarchies. Enjoy problem solving, are very structured and detail oriented.  Proficiency in engaging multiple stakeholders. Highly self-motivated, dedicated individual who is comfortable in dealing with different counterparts and cultures.

Essential:

  • Commercial Insurance background
  • Demonstrated experience 5+ years in Process Excellence/Process Improvement/Continuous Improvement
  • Passionate to explore new ways and challenge the status quo by continually seeking improvement opportunities
  • Ability to translate ideas into clear and consistent priorities as well as an easy to understand story line
  • Strong client centric mentality
  • Comfortable working across different regions, cultures and time zones
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and proficient in PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced with Excel
  • Ability to quickly assimilate to new knowledge and continuous improvement demeanor, strong organizing and structuring skills with attention to detail
  • Experience in project management and change management - close involvement in planning, structuring, leading and completing regional projects

Desirable:

  • Agile, Lean or Six Sigma certification
  • Management consulting experience
  • Project & Change Management certifications
  • Experience in using enterprise tools to document process flows
