Pricing Methodology Actuary

About the role:

  • Build and maintain a strong governance framework for tools and best practices to achieve operational excellence, balancing local, regional and global requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement of pricing methodologies, operating models and associated controls to improve effectiveness, transparency, and scalability.
  • Support on impact testing of new parameters or methodology for improved costing and steering of L&H business.
  • Develop specifications and support on testing new functionality for L&H costing tools and applications.
  • Efficient programming skills (R or similar) used to develop solutions for analysis and visualization of results
  • Apply technical knowledge and process skills to investigate issues and develop solutions relating to costing tools and processes.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members.

 

About the team:

You will be part of L&H Pricing & Portfolio Performance (PPP), a global team focused on enabling sustainable business performance through effective portfolio steering, pricing governance, underwriting standards and business oversight. Working across markets and functions, the team drives consistent practices, operational rigour and informed decision-making to support the long-term success of Swiss Re's Life & Health business and contribute to making the world more resilient.



About you:

 

  • Graduate or Post-graduate in Business Mgt/Insurance/Actuarial Science/Mathematics/Statistics
  • 5+ years of experience in the Life & Health actuarial domain (added advantage if reinsurance)
  • Nearly qualified actuary (qualified actuary is an added advantage)
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work accurately and deliver to strict deadlines
  • Strong understanding of L&H pricing, underwriting, risk management or actuarial governance frameworks
  • Agile and flexible working style, with a proven ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and balance the need for adequate risk controls with commercial considerations
  • Proficiency in working with MS Office, Advanced Coding Skills (R Prog, VBA) with keen interest to develop further using AI.
