Program Delivery Director
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Delivery Director to lead a strategic program focused on transforming our data integration approach. This role is pivotal in shifting from a centralized data warehouse model to business-focused data integration hubs, enabling scalable, flexible, and business-driven data capabilities across the enterprise.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in data warehousing and big data platforms such as Palantir Foundry and has successfully led complex transformation programs in data management like data quality improvement programs in global organizations with multiple business lines and group functions.
As a senior member of the global technology delivery team, you will also contribute to and promote project/ program management standards across Swiss Re, enthusiastically supporting and mentoring colleagues in good delivery practices.
Your main responsibilities:
- Program Leadership: Drive the delivery of the enterprise-wide Data Integration Hub (DIH) transformation program, ensuring alignment with business and technology objectives.
- Delivery Planning & Execution: Plan and manage all delivery activities of the DIH program, ensuring timely achievement of milestones and deliverables.
- Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, manage, and resolve program risks and issues to minimize delivery impact.
- Scheduling & Dependencies: Develop, manage, and maintain the overall program schedule, including dependencies, milestones, and critical paths.
- Progress Tracking & Reporting: Track, measure, and report program progress and performance to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Resource & Vendor Management: Oversee program resource planning, capacity management, and vendor engagements to support delivery objectives.
- Budget Management: Manage program budget, financial forecasting, and resource allocations to ensure cost efficiency and value realization.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the bridge between business stakeholders, data platform teams, and technology partners to ensure delivery outcomes meet business needs.
- Technical Guidance: Leverage expertise in data warehousing, Spark, and big data platforms to guide architectural and solution design discussions.
- Operating Model Transformation: Support the transition from centralized data integration to business-aligned data hubs, including governance, ownership, and delivery accountability.
- Change Management: Oversee the communication, adoption, and integration of new processes and platforms across global business units and functions.
- Team Leadership: Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across technology, data engineering, and business domains, fostering collaboration and delivery excellence.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all deliveries meet enterprise standards, compliance requirements, and data security policies.
About you
Besides being a technology enthusiast and an experienced leader that drives ideas through to successfully delivered solutions, you bring the following experience
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale data transformation programs, preferably in a global, multi-line business environment.
- Strong expertise in data warehousing, big data ecosystems, and Spark-based platforms.
- Deep understanding of data integration, governance, and architecture best practices.
- Experience in transitioning organizations from centralized data warehouse models to distributed/business-owned data platforms.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior executive and business leader levels.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional, globally distributed teams.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Versatility to drive a variety of technology and transformation initiatives
- Experience with agile delivery methods and scaled program management frameworks is a plus.
