About the Role

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring our Life & Health Actuarial Reserving application platforms meet the highest standards of functionality and performance. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement robust testing strategies that protect our users' experience and maintain the integrity of our systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with product owners, requirements engineers and subject matter experts to understand the functionality

  • Quality Assurance: Define test strategies and perform hands-on testing of applications, integrations, and data pipelines

  • Defect Resolution: Investigate and resolve defects, production issues, and data inconsistencies in collaboration with development teams

  • Testing Process: Participate in QA Testing, Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and obtain business sign-off for test items

  • Automation Advocacy: Contribute to and help enforce automated testing practices and CI/CD pipelines

About the Team

The Life & Health Actuarial Reserving Operations team is responsible for ensuring the reliability, quality, and operational excellence of Swiss Re's Life & Health application landscape. Working at the critical intersection between technology and business, our team ensures that the systems supporting Swiss Re's actuarial reserving functions operate seamlessly. We collaborate closely with business stakeholders, developers, architects, and global IT teams to deliver stable, secure, and high-quality applications that support Swiss Re's position as a leading reinsurance provider.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

  • 5+ Years experience in IT, with exposure to quality assurance

  • Prior experience in Database & UI Testing

  • Proficiency in SQL is a must

  • Strong knowledge of SDLC processes and Agile/Scrum methodologies

  • Converting business requirements to Test Scenarios & Test Cases

  • Ability to analyze complex systems and develop effective testing strategies

  • Ability to communicate the Testing results to wider stakeholders

  • Quality-driven mindset with exceptional attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in global environments

  • Knowledge of Test Management & Defect Tracking tools like JIRA

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools

  • Knowledge of actuarial or financial systems

  • Experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry

  • Familiarity with data validation techniques and tools

  • Cloud platform testing experience
