Quality Assurance Engineer I
About the Role:
Position Summary & Main Tasks
Join the Financial Risk Management IT team, engineering and operating robust testing, validation, and control solutions to ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of market and credit risk data.
The role focuses on automated testing, data validation, and regression testing of risk applications and data pipelines. You will work closely with Risk, Business Analysts, Developers, and Data Engineers in an international, agile environment to ensure that changes are robustly tested and financially sound.
Key Accountabilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for risk data pipelines and analytics.
- Develop SQL-based and data-driven automated tests to validate transformations, aggregations, and risk calculations.
- Execute and maintain regression testing for key risk metrics (e.g. VaR, stress testing, exposure).
- Validate risk outputs for data integrity and financial correctness.
- Produce test results, validation summaries, and defect analysis to support release and governance decisions.
- Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, test, and deployment.
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Risk teams, Developers, and Data Engineers in an agile delivery setup.
- Support investigation of data and calculation issues and contribute to root-cause analysis and preventive controls.
Key Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
- Around 3–5 years of experience in QA automation, data QA, or quality engineering, preferably within financial services.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL (Oracle, MS SQL Server, or similar).
- Experience with test automation tools (e.g. JMeter, Katalon, SOAP UI, Selenium, or similar).
- Scripting or programming experience (e.g. Python, Java, C#).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Git, Bamboo, Azure DevOps).
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
- Understanding of market and/or credit risk concepts.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and quality-focused mindset.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in international, cross-functional teams.
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Nice to have
-FRM (Financial Risk Manager) certification – strongly preferred (FRM Part I required; Part II a strong advantage).
