Quality DevSecOps Engineer

Functional Title : Quality Engineer in DevSecOps

A quality engineer in DevSecOps is a key player in ensuring the quality of the software throughout the lifecycle.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Central Testing Role: As a part of central DevSecOps team, lead and support automated and performance testing initiatives within Swiss Re. Collaborate closely with software development teams, providing expert guidance on testing processes and contribute to the operation of the centralized testing platforms.         
  • Quality Improvement: Enhance application quality practices by advancing automated functional and non-functional testing methodologies. Contribute to improvements in engineering methodologies, tools, and processes to maintain application quality.
  • Consultation and Expertise: Consult and advise on best practices, standards, and techniques for both automation and non-functional testing.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with developers and product owners to devise and implement test strategies, plans, and cases that align with business requirements and quality objectives.

 

About you

Experience: You have at least 8+ years of total IT experience as a Test Analyst / Test Lead with experience in automated performance and functional testing.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience in Performance testing with tools like LoadRunner, JMeter.
  • Proficiency in working with testing tools (e.g. Selenium, TOSCA) and CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps preferred).
  • Proven experience in managing the test tools and its hosting infrastructure with good understanding of technologies like web/application servers and databases.
  • Solid background of SDLC with good understanding of modern software development practices (Agile, Scrum).
  • Experience with at least one scripting language (e.g.: PowerShell, Python)

DevOps Knowledge:

Familiarity with DevSecOps methodologies and tools, including containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), cloud services (e.g., Azure), and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).

Communication and Analytical Skills:

  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills with ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with multiple stakeholders and changing requirements and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.
