R&D Actuarial Analyst

In this role, you will operate as a member of the Actuarial Support Products North America R&D Team and working with NA Market Experience Studies Team based in Bangalore with activities of performing and reviewing US Experience Studies to support assumption development for pricing and reserving.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare and validate client and reinsurance data sets for use in actuarial experience studies and support the creation and review of experience study results.
  • Coordinate workflow between data analysts and actuarial teams and maintain documentation of data validation processes including assumptions and methodology.
  • Analyze data, validate results, and isolate unusual trends, seek explanations and derive recommendations where necessary.
  • Perform analytical review process, follow established guidelines and best practices for internal and external data management processes which includes appropriate documentation in support of business controls.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance guidelines and best practices when necessary and streamline current processes for efficiency when appropriate.

 

Position Requirements:

 

  • At least 1 year of actuarial pricing and/or valuation experience in Life Insurance and/or Reinsurance industry with a good understanding of fundamental actuarial concepts
  • Cleared at least 2 actuarial papers from IFoA UK or IoAI Mumbai
  • Programming/software skills particularly in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, SQL and client database tools or others such as R, Python, SAS and Power BI.
  • Shows initiative in identifying data or actuarial related issues and supporting other team members, peers and senior stakeholders.
  • Cross cultural experience working with colleagues globally and experienced in managing data handover processes between teams in different geographical locations.
  • Demonstrates strong oral and written English communication skills along with strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently, accurately and deliver to deadlines
