About the Team:

 

Americas Carrier Reporting team is responsible to deliver accurate and timely financials; manage statutory capital requirements for the legal entity/Branch; understand and analyze the key business drivers.  As a member of this team, you will be responsible for carrier accounting and reporting in support of the Americas L&H reinsurance entity – Swiss Reinsurance Company Ltd & AdminRe business.

We are looking for a Finance accountant who will be primarily responsible for Admin re business.  You will be based out in Bangalore and will assume responsibility, together with the local Accountants in America, for the end-to-end Accounting & Reporting process of the AdminRe & Lincoln side of business. Your duties will be performed in compliance with local / Group requirements and the internal control framework. The individual will also have responsibility for both recurring and ad hoc accounting, reporting and cash management activities.  
 

About the Role

 

  • Responsible for all bases of Accounting - US Statutory/Blue books, Swiss Stat and IFRS to a limited extent
  • Seeking out continuous coaching (formal / informal) from both local and US team members
  • Challenge him/herself for ongoing enhancements by exploring advance Technological solutions
  • You have an insurance background, ideally involving good knowledge of the key processes and how to gain insight into these processes via the data produced. Specific L&H experience is an advantage
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities will include the following:
    • Ensuring successful and timely statutory close by reporting Financial Statements and underlying Schedules, Exhibits, General Interrogatories etc. to the regulators
    • File and Bank processing, premium tax related payment and processing
    • Prepare Quarterly & Annual reporting, submit quality output
    • Performing critical delivery of daily/quarterly/monthly work product
    • Ensure process controls are adhered consistently
    • Preparation of certain internal client/regulatory/audit deliverables
  • Participation in long-term projects
  • Managing the seamless communication between US and Bangalore Team members
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience working with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a strong self-starter attitude.

 

Experience Background:

 

  • CA /CPA/ACCA or any equivalent educational qualification
  • 0-3 years relevant work experience in an accounting, auditing or financial analysis
  • Knowledge of Financial Services or Insurance accounting experience is preferable 
  • Prefer candidate that possesses experience in working with North American company and are familiar with North American business practices and culture. 
  • Flexibility to work in CET working hours and stretch during QTR close as required
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Power Point. Exposure to tools like Power BI, Power query etc. will be preferred.
