Reporting Professional II

About the Team 

Global Carrier Management team (GCM&T) is responsible to deliver accurate and timely financials; manage statutory capital requirements for the legal entity; understand and analyze the key business drivers. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for carrier accounting and reporting in support of the Americas P&C Reinsurance entities. 

The duties will be performed in compliance with local / group requirements and the internal control framework for the assigned legal entities. The position will report directly to the Team Lead, Americas GCM&T based out in Bangalore.  It also requires frequent and pragmatic communication regarding workload and issues encountered with both local and US based management. 

 

About the Role 

  • Production and analysis of high quality, well explained quarterly and annual financial results on US Statutory basis 

  • Willingness to challenge status quo processes and desire to implement process improvements 

  • Assumption of additional projected-related responsibilities as well as ad-hoc requests from internal clients 

  • Seeking out continuous coaching (formal / informal) from both Bangalore and US team members 

  • Additional tasks and responsibilities will include the following: 

  • Ensuring successful/timely completion of monthly/quarterly deliverables; Heavily involved in preparing quarterly/annual statutory close schedules  

  • Develop deeper understanding of NAIC filings and P&C Risk Based Capital (RBC) framework  

  • Involvement in preparing entity's plan/projected financial statement, ORSA modeling 

  • Preparation of certain internal client/regulatory/audit deliverables 

  • Performing critical self-review of daily/monthly/quarterly work product 

  • Focus on teamwork – taking on additional duties during peak times 

  • Building and maintaining relationships with key internal clients and cross functional team 

 

About You 

Experience Background: 

  • University postgraduate in Finance; CA/CPA/ACCA will be preferred  

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in accounting, financial reporting, auditing or financial analysis 

  • Knowledge of Financial Services is a must, with a strong preference to insurance/reinsurance business understanding 

  • Strong interest in/motivation to learn about insurance/reinsurance 

  • Exposure to USGAAP/Statutory reporting; NAIC Quarterly insurance/reinsurance preferred 

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills 

  • Proficiency in MS excel, and Power Point; Exposure to business intelligence tools and programming languages such as Power BI, Tableau, Python, etc. will be preferred
