Senior Actuarial Analyst


About the Role


This role contributes to informed pricing and portfolio decisions for India Life & Health business by providing analytical insights across experience studies, Terms of Trade assumptions, new business costing, and Open Treaty Reviews.


Key Responsibilities


Experience Studies & Insights

  • Lead or support end‑to‑end experience studies for India portfolios, including data validation, reconciliation, methodology implementation, governance, and documentation.
  • Translate experience study insights into clear, actionable inputs for pricing decisions and ToT assumptions in collaboration with the market Pricing team.


Pricing– New Business & Open Treaty Reviews

  • Perform new business pricing and OTRs which involves in-depth analysis of the financial metrics derived from cashflow models (CPT).
  • Collaborate with the India Pricing team in Mumbai to facilitate quotes, undertake reviews, and establish pricing assumptions.
  • Continuously monitor regulatory, market, and industry developments in India, ensuring all relevant impacts are incorporated into pricing assumptions.
  • Maintain pricing documentation ensuring compliance with India ToT guidelines and other costing standards.


Process Improvement, Automation & Collaboration

  • Proactively challenge existing approaches and drive continuous improvement in experience study and pricing processes through simplification, automation, and standardization.
  • Automate and enhance analytical workflows using R, Python, SAS, VBA, or similar tools to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate closely XFT s across pricing, underwriting, claims, valuation, client markets, and DMI to deliver high‑quality, business‑relevant outcomes.
  • Mentor junior analysts and support the development of actuarial and analytical capability within the Bangalore team.
  • Contribute to ongoing initiatives and projects as required, in line with business priorities.


About the Team


You will be part of the Pricing & Underwriting Services function based in Bangalore, supporting the India Life & Health Pricing team in Mumbai. The team delivers experience studies, Terms of Trade (ToT) updates, Open Treaty Reviews (OTRs), and new business costing, working closely with market pricing team, Client Management, Technical Accounting, DMI, Underwriting, Claims, and Valuation.


About you


  • 2+ years of actuarial experience in life and/or health insurance or reinsurance, preferably in pricing or experience studies.
  • Good progress in actuarial exams( 5+ exams) from recognized actuarial institutes.
  • Experience with India market or any life insurance pricing is an advantage
  • Strong technical foundation in actuarial pricing or experience studies for life and/or health insurance.
  • Solid understanding of actuarial methods and life insurance products.
  • Proficiency in R, SAS, or Python.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and project management skills.
