Senior Assistant Pricing Actuary

About the Role:

You will be a part of the Actuarial Reserving P&C Re team for Americas in Bangalore and will have the opportunity to apply your technical actuarial, modelling and data analytics skills across a wide variety of activities outlined below. You will have the opportunity for out of the box thinking while working on solutions to a broad range of challenges. You will be involved with a wide variety of topics across Pricing, Reserving, Statutory reporting and data analytics which will help you develop into a well-rounded actuary.

 

The job responsibilities include the following:

  • Perform actuarial analysis of business to be commuted and determine the price for the scope in question – this will include interaction with senior actuaries, Claims, Underwriting, Reserving and In-force Management globally.
  • Work on end-to-end reserving for designated lines of business and gain insights into the underlying business and markets.
  • Develop new and maintain existing pricing tools either independently (Excel and VBA based) or in a project team with other team-members and IT.
  • Work on statutory reporting and other actuarial reports.
  • Participate in cross-functional actuarial projects.

Contribute to data analytics projects and generate valuable insights from large datasets, data visualization and reporting.

 

About the Team:

The Actuarial Reserving P&C Re team for Americas is part of the Global Actuarial Reserving P&C Re Unit which is responsible for reserving, commutation pricing, statutory reporting, IFRS17 reporting/implementation and data analytics for actuarial analysis.

Required Education and Skills

  • Academic Background in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science
  • Minimum 7 actuarial exams and continuing to write in the future.
  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in the P&C actuarial domain –reserving/pricing/risk management/capital modelling
  • Strong IT skills – Excel and VBA knowledge mandatory, knowledge and experience with R, Python or PowerBI is an advantage.
