Swiss Re is a leading provider of Life and Health (L&H) reinsurance. We offer an outstanding opportunity for a Senior BI Engineer and Data Analyst to work on Valuations and Modelling solutions landscape. You will grow your skills by analyzing, designing and helping to operationalize state-of-the-art L&H Actuarial software systems in Microsoft Azure Cloud / SaaS services environments. You are business objective focused senior BI engineer / analyst who can take a long-term view to provide smooth service to our L&H Actuarial community.

Your responsibilities will be to:

• Work with multiple squads to understand their BI and Visualization needs
• Encourage Squads to "design to report"
• Guide teams on visualization best practices
• Manage the life cycle in an Agile development environment
• Help stakeholders to better utilize BI Solutions

About the team

A large globally distributed team, with actuarial and IT stakeholders working in an agile development landscape, we deliver solutions, which calculate the reserves required for our Life and Health (L&H) reinsurance book of business. This involves processing large volumes of data, what in turn requires automation, coordination, visualization, control and auditing.

The landscape consists of in-house built systems in multiple cloud platforms integrating modelling solutions provided by third party start-of-the-art software providers that we build and enhance.

About you

Your knowledge:

• A bachelor degree in Computer Science / Engineering is required.
• A Master's degree in Engineering / Business is preferred.
• Microsoft Data and / or Power BI Certification is a plus
• Over 8 years of experience out of which 4 years with business and data analysis with a focus on visualization tools such as Microsoft BI Suite, Azure Databricks and Oracle
• You have used issue tracking systems (JIRA, Azure DevOps etc.) and have applied them in the software life cycle.
• Familiarity with Service Management framework (e.g. ITIL) and how reliable software is designed and handed over to operations teams.
• Your spoken and written form of the English language allows you to communicate effectively.
• Actuarial Projection Modeling tools knowledge (Prophet, RAFM, AXIS etc.) is a big plus.
