Senior Business Analyst I

About the Role

Intra-group transactions connect legal entities across the Swiss Re Group, providing protection for legal entities while optimizing local funding requirements and supporting external client transactions. As a Senior Business Analyst I within the Intra-group Transactions (IGT) Governance team, you will play a key role in supporting governance processes across Intra-group Retrocession (IGR), Intra-group Loans (IGL), and Guarantees for the Swiss Re Group.

 

You will be responsible for end-to-end governance support, including process improvement and process automation, contract drafting, approval management, periodic governance reviews, audit support, and change management activities. Working closely with global business stakeholders, Capital Management, Carrier Management, Tax, Actuarial, Underwriting, Accounting, Legal, and Technology teams, you will help ensure governance processes remain effective, compliant, and fit for purpose.

 

This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic initiatives, process improvements, automation efforts, and system enhancements while supporting governance activities across Swiss Re's business.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide governance support across IGT processes, including Intra Group Retrocession (IGR), Intra Group Loans (IGL), and Guarantees. Contribute to process improvement initiatives and lead process automation efforts.
  • Coordinate governance processes end-to-end, ensuring timely approvals, structured review cycles, and accurate documentation.
  • Manage contract renewals, amendments, approvals, and sign-off processes in accordance with governance, regulatory, and tax requirements, coordinating with senior stakeholders globally.
  • Organize and support IGR governance committee meetings, governance forums, and strategy workshops.
  • Ensure governance records, contracts, approvals, and supporting documentation are maintained accurately and remain audit-ready.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, evidence, and process expertise.
  • Support business and system change initiatives, including business requirement gathering, change requests, testing activities, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Act as a subject matter expert for assigned governance processes and support related projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Support SharePoint Online administration and governance-related knowledge management activities.

 

About the Team

 

The Central IGT Governance team is part of Group Treasury and is responsible for overseeing governance processes related to Intra-group Retrocession (IGR), Intra-group Loans (IGL), and Guarantees across the Swiss Re Group.

 

The team works closely with stakeholders across Treasury, Tax, Carrier Management, Legal, Accounting, Underwriting, and Technology to ensure that intra-group transactions are governed effectively, documented appropriately, and executed in compliance with internal standards and regulatory and tax requirements.

 

As part of a global team, you will collaborate with colleagues across regions while contributing to governance excellence, operational resilience, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

About You

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Arts, English, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 7–11 years of professional experience in project management, governance, or operations, ideally within global financial services, insurance, or reinsurance.
  • Experience in process automation is preferred, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple topics, deadlines, and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience documenting business requirements, process flows, user procedures, and governance documentation.
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within global teams.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, AI agents, or other automation technologies to improve productivity and process efficiency.

 

These are additional nice-to-haves:

 

  • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or similar project management certification.
  • Experience with SharePoint Online administration and governance.
  • Experience supporting technology change initiatives, testing activities, and system implementations.
  • Knowledge of governance frameworks, process controls, and audit requirements.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a strong focus on innovation, digitization, and automation.

 

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
