About the Role
As a Senior Business Analyst in our Reinsurance Liabilities Reporting team, you'll be at the intersection of finance, technology, and innovation. You'll analyze, design, and build sophisticated reporting solutions across multiple platforms while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence. Your expertise will directly impact how Swiss Re manages its financial reporting across IFRS valuations, statutory requirements, regulatory filings, and operational analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Lead subject matter expertise for Reinsurance Liabilities Reporting around IFRS Valuation and support design decisions across FPSL, EFR, and GL systems, mentoring junior team members
Manage reporting aspects of quarterly financial close in the subledger and support operational readiness during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing cycles
Define and implement consistent reporting capabilities based on SAP S/4HANA General Ledger/Financial Products Subledger, Analysis for Office (AfO)/Fiori, Microsoft Azure and PowerBI
Drive functional testing for enhancements, new developments, and system upgrades (e.g., FPSL/GL integrations)
Partner with IT colleagues following their guidance on reporting architecture, data modeling, report design, and performance optimization
Develop business prototypes that lead to comprehensive end-to-end solutions
Ensure documentation quality by maintaining well-documented reports, training materials, and support documentation
Identify optimization opportunities across processes, systems, mappings, and data enrichment logic
Facilitate effective communication within the team and across the organization
About the Team
We are a diverse team based out of Zürich, Bratislava, and Bangalore, committed to bringing alive the Finance of the Future within the Group Finance Operations & Transformation (GFO&T) organization. We transform our Finance operating model by standardizing, automating, and integrating our Reporting & Processes along the Value Chain.
The Reinsurance Liabilities Reporting team, within the Finance Reporting Solutions product area, delivers performant, scalable, and maintainable solutions that enable our stakeholders to quickly extract knowledge from large and disparate financial datasets. Our solutions support financial reconciliation, steering, and auditing based primarily on subledger data from the SAP S/4 HANA and Microsoft Azure Data platforms. You'll act as a business lead with end-to-end responsibility for development, maintenance, and operations throughout the full solution lifecycle.
About You

Your analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities allow you to navigate ambiguity while delivering high-quality results.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
8+ years of hands-on experience in monthly/quarterly/annual entity closing, business analysis, and preparing financial statements and disclosures
Hands-on experience with SAP financial systems (FPSL, GL)
Strong understanding of insurance accounting, specifically reinsurance liabilities, with familiarity with IFRS valuation frameworks including IFRS 17
Proven expert knowledge in various Reporting & Analytics technologies with a focus on SAP and Microsoft
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills to interpret accounting, data, and reporting requirements
These are additional nice to haves:
Experience in reinsurance or insurance domain
Strong experience in all phases of Analytics solution development including requirements gathering, architecture design, implementation, testing, and documentation
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Computer/IT Science
Experience in Finance at Swiss Re or with other major players in the re/insurance/financial services industry, ideally with consulting background
Excellent command of English, with additional languages being a plus
Experience working in an agile environment
