About the Role

In this pivotal position, you'll be the guardian of digital risk governance for our Reinsurance business unit. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to implement robust risk frameworks, conduct thorough assessments, and provide strategic advice that enables business growth while maintaining appropriate risk controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead risk assessments and control activities for the Digital & Technology team in the Reinsurance business unit

  • Implement and advocate for digital risk governance principles and standards across applications and business units

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on digital risk matters, ensuring IT threats and risks are properly understood

  • Drive timely resolution of identified issues and verify IT controls are designed and operating effectively

  • Champion automation and continuous improvement in risk controls and monitoring processes

  • Deliver transparency through regular risk posture assessments and comprehensive reporting

  • Coordinate effectively with internal and external auditors during compliance reviews

  • Provide expert guidance on digital risk and control activities within the Reinsurance business unit

  • Foster risk awareness by staying current with evolving requirements and ensuring proper framework adoption

  • Innovate continuously to enhance risk management approaches and methodologies

About the Team

The Digital Risk Governance & Controls team is a key part of Swiss Re's Security Team, focused on defining and managing risks related to digital topics. We're a collaborative group of risk professionals dedicated to strengthening Swiss Re's risk culture and enabling secure digital transformation. Our work directly supports the company's mission of making the world more resilient by ensuring that technology operations remain secure, compliant, and effective.

About You

You're a forward-thinking risk professional who understands that effective digital risk management is not just about compliance—it's about enabling business performance. You thrive in collaborative environments, communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences, and continuously seek better ways to address evolving digital risks. Your analytical mindset and proactive approach allow you to anticipate challenges and implement effective solutions.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Proven experience in IT risk and control-related roles (IT governance, IT audit, or digital risk management)

  • Knowledge of Risk Management Frameworks such as COBIT, ISO 31000, COSO ERM, and NIST

  • Understanding of insurance, reinsurance, or banking business contexts and modern technology solutions

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels

  • Fluency in spoken and written English

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Professional qualifications such as CISA, CGEIT, CRISC, or similar certifications

  • Experience with control automation and continuous monitoring techniques

  • Knowledge of emerging digital risks and mitigation strategies

  • Experience in building collaborative networks across IT domains

  • Background in implementing or improving risk management frameworks

  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation in risk management practices

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week
