About the Role

As a Senior Digital Risk Control Advisor, you'll serve as a trusted partner to our Finance and Business Units, ensuring that digital and technology risks are properly identified, assessed, and controlled. You'll help build a robust risk culture while enabling innovation and business growth through effective risk management practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead risk assessments and control evaluations for Digital & Technology teams in Finance and Business Units Corporate Solutions/Reinsurance

  • Implement digital risk frameworks as a trusted advisor, ensuring IT threats and risks are understood throughout the organization

  • Design effective controls and embed them into operational procedures through collaboration with technology teams

  • Drive automation of control processes and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen our risk position

  • Build operational transparency through continuous monitoring and assessment of controls against our risk appetite

  • Coordinate audit activities and serve as the primary point of contact for Internal Audits, External Audits, and Compliance Risk Reviews

  • Provide expert guidance on digital risk and control activities within Finance and Business Units

  • Promote risk awareness by staying current with evolving digital risk requirements and ensuring proper framework implementation

  • Foster innovation in risk management approaches and methodologies

The Digital Risk Governance & Controls team is a key part of Swiss Re, focused on defining and managing risks related to digital topics. We play a crucial role in helping Swiss Re fulfill its mission of making the world more resilient by ensuring that digital risks are properly identified, assessed, and controlled. Our team combines technical expertise with business acumen to provide practical risk management solutions that protect the organization while enabling innovation and growth.

About You

You're a strategic thinker with a passion for risk management and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. You understand both the technical and business aspects of digital risk and can communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. You're proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement in risk management practices.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • Proven track record in IT risk and control-related roles such as IT Governance, IT audit, or digital risk management

  • Knowledge of Risk Management Frameworks such as COBIT, ISO 31000, COSO ERM, and NIST

  • Industry experience in insurance, reinsurance, or banking, with understanding of modern technology solutions

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders from senior managers to IT engineers

  • Fluency in spoken and written English

These are additional nice to haves:

  • CISA, CGEIT, CRISC or similar professional qualifications

  • Experience with control automation and continuous monitoring techniques

  • Understanding of company financial closing processes and IFRS 17 & 9 accounting standards

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative networks across IT domains

  • Curiosity, proactivity, and confidence in decision-making at speed

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week
