Senior Test Automation Engineer

About the role

As a senior test automation engineer at Swiss Re, you will play an important role in testing Geospatial applications which helps insurers in identifying the post natural catastrophe event risks and claims functions. You will assist with developing functional and performance test automation frameworks with best industry practices and automation scripts development that will bring efficiencies in application testing and help Swiss Re to go to market quick and make an impact that matters to the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Author and develop test cases, scenarios, and scripts based on requirements and specifications.
  • Implement automated tests, analysing and documenting results, and ensuring issues are appropriately logged and supervised.
  • Use automation frameworks and tools to develop automated test scripts using languages like C#, Python, and other relevant languages.
  • Plan and conduct automated performance testing to assess system performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with various internal functional teams and external partner teams to improve test automation coverage.

About the team

You will be joining the geospatial solutions team that delivers map and lookup services to the business. We provide the backend for interactive visual mapping tools and make spatial information and analytics easily accessible for the users. This helps the team to make efficient and informed decisions.

  • Minimum of 6-9 years of experience in software testing, with a strong foundation in testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Proficient in UI and API testing through manual and test automation.
  • Proficient in automation testing using C#, Python languages. Java(Basics)
  • Must have good skills in writing database queries.
  • Experience in performance testing tools and methodologies using JMeter or Locust or Load Runner.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, agile methodologies, and testing within agile environments.
  • Excellent data analysis skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technical and customer focus skills coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good to have proven understanding of any cloud environment (Azure/GCP/AWS).
  • Prior experience of working in GIS domain is a plus.
