Treaty Underwriting Coordinator I
Are you someone who thrives at the intersection of precision, process, and purpose? Do you bring energy and curiosity to complex administrative challenges and love being the person who keeps things running smoothly? If you're ready to play a pivotal role in the world of reinsurance — supporting some of the most important risk decisions on the planet — this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
About the Role
As a Treaty Underwriting Coordinator I at Swiss Re, you'll be at the heart of our reinsurance operations — ensuring that the end-to-end treaty lifecycle runs with precision, quality, and efficiency. This is a role where your attention to detail, collaborative mindset, and process expertise will directly contribute to the success of our client markets and underwriting teams. You'll be a trusted go-to expert for administrative tools, processes, and best practices, while also helping to shape and improve the way we work.
Key Responsibilities
-
Manage end-to-end treaty processes by coordinating submission intake, contract drafting, system updates, contract binding, and post-bind activities with accuracy and timeliness
-
Support Treaty renewal and new business processes, including contract wording review, submission and ITC support, treaty system input and updates, and ensuring complete documentation is stored in relevant systems
-
Coordinate cross-functionally with Business Operations, Finance, Regional Account Coordinators, and other stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues and ensure smooth origination processes
-
Provide high-quality administrative support to Client Markets, Underwriting, and Pricing teams, ensuring standard reporting is delivered on time and to the highest standard
-
Act as a business expert for Swiss Re's administrative tools, processes, and guidelines — maintaining methodology documentation and sharing knowledge across the team
-
Analyze complex technical problems and deliver clear, well-structured solutions that meet defined quality standards
-
Support audit compliance by ensuring adherence to both internal and external audit requirements and maintaining robust record management practices
-
Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes to drive greater efficiency and quality across the Business Services function
-
Build strong connections with broader Business Services teams and experts across regions, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing
-
Demonstrate flexibility to work across all APAC time zones as required to support regional business needs
About the Team
Business Services P&C Treaty is a dynamic origination support team at the core of Swiss Re's reinsurance operations. The team manages the full end-to-end treaty renewal lifecycle — from submission intake and compliance reviews to contract drafting, referral support, timely system updates, contract binding in administrative tools, and all post-bind activities. Working closely with Client Markets, Underwriting, and cross-functional partners, the team plays a critical role in ensuring that treaty processes are executed with precision, consistency, and the highest standards of quality.
About You
You are a detail-oriented, proactive professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You bring a service-first mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with confidence. You're comfortable working independently, building relationships across teams and cultures, and adapting quickly when priorities shift. You enjoy solving problems, sharing knowledge, and continuously looking for ways to improve how things are done.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
-
1–2 years of experience in Insurance or Reinsurance, with a solid understanding of reinsurance concepts, business processes, and the broader upstream and downstream functions
-
Proficient knowledge of reinsurance/insurance operations, including a good understanding and interpretation of contract wordings and clauses
-
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools — Word, Excel, PowerPoint — and working knowledge of Power BI for data analysis and reporting
These are additional nice to haves:
-
Experience with ORM/RCSA frameworks and operational risk management practices
-
Familiarity with Swiss Re's administrative and business applications or similar reinsurance platforms
-
Graduate or post-graduate qualification with an Insurance certification as an added advantage
-
Excellent cross-cultural communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience working across diverse, international teams
-
A strategic mindset with the ability to build knowledge bases and develop use cases that support fact-driven business decisions
-
Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge and mentor colleagues, contributing to a strong team learning culture
-
Flexibility and willingness to work across APAC time zones to support regional operations
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
