About the Role

Reporting to the CRO of China, we are offering a unique opportunity to help build a dynamic China Public Affairs function.   With continuous cooperation and coordination with Swiss Re's China leadership team, the China Senior Public Affairs Officer will have a leading role in coordinating Swiss Re's public affairs interests at all levels in China-- local, regional and national.  This role is based in Beijing.

The Senior China Public Affairs Officer will coordinate Swiss Re's strategic approach to governmental and regulatory bodies, policymakers, industry associations and other partners to help Swiss Re support China's continued growth in the (re)Insurance sector.  The candidate will work extensively with internal stakeholders and Swiss Re senior management in China/APAC to pursue results-oriented public affairs interactions with external stakeholders based on the clearly articulated priorities and objectives of functional units.

About You

  • Minimum of 8+ years work experience leading/supporting large scale projects and initiatives involving stakeholders from multiple locations
  • Superlative project management skills.  Prior management consulting experience in China with local, national, regional governmental bodies or regulators is a strong plus
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate complex projects while driving active participation and input from a wide range of experts from varied functions
  • Strong understanding of the evolving priorities and organizational structure of Chinese regulatory bodies, policymakers and industry associations
  • A successful track record working in a diverse multinational environment with teams and stakeholders based in various locations
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.  Fluent in Mandarin and English (other regional languages in China would be an asset but not a requirement)
  • Excellent presentational skills (including Powerpoint)
