About the Role:

 

Your role as the China Business Development Manager will be to spearhead the activities related to this goal and to partner with the various China and regional executives, across all operating units of Swiss Re. This will include contributing and orchestrating all aspects of the strategy definition and execution process. And since this a new role, you are comfortable to deal with a significant level of ambiguity and to provide clarity to your stakeholders on how to move forward.

 

This role will report to the future China Business Development Director.  This role has three focus areas:

 

Strategy Development:

  • Closely collaborate with China Business Leaders to explore new ways to increase the Franchise Value for our China business
  • Identify synergies and highlight opportunities to drive the ideation and definition of specific topics crafting new revenue streams in the mid- to long-term
  • Assess feasibly of these topics and ensure adequate business cases development as part of the innovation process

 

Project and Process Management:

  • Drive and contribute to a fit-for-purpose innovation process, providing a platform for local, regional and global stakeholders to contribute to the strategy development process
  • Support the strategy definition and idea incubation phase with effective and efficient project management techniques
  • Drive an adequate governance process to ensure required information sharing, stakeholder management and decision making

 

Change Management:

Role model a strong Oneness attitude across all Swiss Re units in China and evolve/adjust the newly defined China Business Development team concept as required

 

About the Team

 

The Swiss Re China Business Development team is responsible for driving the strategic dialogue among all Swiss Re China Leaders as well as selected Swiss Re Group Leaders. This includes the structured definition and development of growth topics for Swiss Re in China as well as the articulation of future requirements towards the shared foundation / the enabling teams in China.

 

Through its wide range of external and internal expertise, this new team will act as the backbone to deliver Swiss Re's long-term China Ambition. A strong entrepreneurial attitude will enable the team to develop cohesive strategies and roadmaps that unites our various China teams and deliver additional Franchise Value for Swiss Re in the future.

 

About You

 

  • Strategic Mindset: You see the bigger picture as you develop strategies, anticipate relevant change factors along the way and have very solid experience in strategy implementation.
  • Re/Insurance Knowledge: You have relevant work experience including excellent understanding of the Re/Insurance market in China, including knowledge in emerging topics and trends for the Insurance industry
  • Collaboration and Influencing: You have experience as someone who takes other viewpoints into consideration, have an engaging style that facilitates open discussions, resolving struggles and agreeing trade-offs. You build bridges with your stakeholders through establishing trusted relationships and negotiate for win-win outcomes through engaging and persuasive communication skills.
  • Results and Change: You translate and organize concepts into tangible results and quickly grasp business needs and opportunities and assimilate how Swiss Re can best support these. You are comfortable with significant ambiguity at the start of an assignment and are able to provide sufficient structure for the stakeholders to achieve results quickly.
  • Leadership and Development: With outstanding interpersonal skills, you are a change agent who encourages others, coaches effectively and promotes teamwork, cooperation across business units. Self-aware, you establish trust through open, transparent communication and empower others through effective delegation ability to handle tensions
