About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Operations China with a dotted reporting line to the Head of Business Services L&H Asia, your core responsibilities will include:

  1. Support cross-functional business origination team to deliver sales activities and increase client engagement in assigned market

  • Support client markets in leading their cross-functional teams, i.e., steering, preparing, and coordinating meetings and other activities, managing partners and communication

  • Support in the creation of client strategy and track process

  • Analyze internal and external client data for Life and Health, including coordination with Finance team and other data providers, and prepare performance reports

  • Prepare high-quality briefing documents and internal/external marketing materials in coordination with the cross-functional team

  • Prepare internal and external communications, e.g., to clients, internal stakeholders including executive management level

  • Coordinate client surveys including preparation of distribution lists, interpretation of results and development of improvement plans

  • Ensure best practice are followed for client visits preparation (statistics, open issues, overview, open balances)


  1. Provide operations support to cross-functional business origination team to maintain operational excellence

  • Support client markets to coordinate quote life cycle using internal applications and facilitate the discussion on the pipeline quotes timely and accurately

  • Understand L&H Contract Document and execute Treaty set up process to enable downstream functions to carry out their process including Accounting teams

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team such as Costing Actuarial and Finance to drive L&H quarterly activity such as Open Treaty Review and Financial Closing

  • Proactively identifying process gaps and suggest improvements


  1. Maintain overview on operational excellence and governance topics

  • Monitor operational risk in the respective market, help identify pain points from a process perspective and drive improvements of the systems and the end-to-end processes

  • Support business origination team to monitor pipeline, contracts in progress and budget planning

  • Prepare reports and dashboard to provide insights on operational effectiveness and drive actions

  • Ensure internal and external regulatory requirements are met and support business origination team when needed (e.g., AML, CDD, ITC, LPE, RCSA, internal and external audit compliance)

  • Adhere to business governance/requirement and drive positive audit outcome

Provide on-site administrative support as required (e.g., scanning treaty wet signature)

Business Services Asia is part of the S&O team and we enable our reinsurance origination team. You will be responsible for the efficient and high-quality sales support to business origination community and administrative handling of the reinsurance business of L&H clients. This role will be the glue that sticks our cross-functional teams together and interacts with colleagues from other functions such as Underwriting, Business Development, Finance, Inforce, Claims, Technical Accounting, Legal and Business Services.


About You


Professional/technical experience

  • Good knowledge of L&H reinsurance/insurance industry, products, and business processes

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills

  • Experience using and driving improvements in business applications

  • Experience driving marketing initiatives 

  • Solid knowledge in visual design in PowerPoint and other Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word)

  • Strong command of English is a must, fluency in local language is a plus
