About the Role
This is your opportunity to join one of the world's leading reinsurers and a team of motivated finance professionals within Swiss Re's Finance Reinsurance unit! Do you have a passion for finance and accounting for reinsurance companies? Do you like financial planning and analysis supporting underwriting action? In this role, you will contribute to key accounting and reporting initiatives, support processes and coordinate management information materials along our FP&A activity. You will join various dedicated to highly motivated analysts, working closely with senior finance professionals and contributing to broader cross-department work. Your key accountabilities may include:
- Understand and implement the internal control process of finance governance
- Understand and practice the monthly closing process, including local adjustments
- Prepare regulatory reports under China GAAP and CROSS II
- Deep dive into business nature to be able to explain numbers to external auditors
- Understand and apply SwissRe internal performance matrix to business plan cycle and quarterly review cycle, and be able to steer business accordingly
- Be involved in new subledger end-to-end testing process as part of new accounting standard (IFRS 17) implementation process
- Support cross-department projects and initiatives, including but not limited to Tax, Asset Management and Actuaries.
About the Team
As part of Finance Reinsurance, we are responsible for overall financial stability of Reinsurance branch in China. We ensure timely closing and subsequent reporting to various local regulators and authorities. We manage the cash and capital of the branch to ensure adequate liquidity and capitalization of the branch. We drive sustainable performance by providing comprehensive analysis on internal and external matrix, in the role of close business partner with both P&C and L&H communities. In addition, we also support the company's thought leadership on long-term and responsible financial themes, and act as a "Centre of Excellence" for financial accounting expertise.
You will be working with high-potential employees in close interaction with other financial accounting professionals from the various teams, while reporting into the Head of Financial in China.

About You
- Successfully completed university degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Economics. CPA or equivalent is a plus but not mandatory
- You demonstrate a good understanding of financial accounting for insurance company
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to apply concepts to actions in a rigorous and timely manner.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications. Power BI and VB programming skills are a plus
- You are fluent in English, with an aptitude to express yourself effectively in one-on-one conversations and small group
- Highly motivated, with an open mind set, and eager to learn
- Able to focus and pay attention to detail without losing track of the bigger picture
- Capacity to readily adapt to a changing and dynamic environment as well as being innovative and showing a high degree of own initiative
- Team-player, willingness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills and ready to be mobile in terms of workplace or location
- Well-organized and structured approach to problem solving and able to maintain high quality even under time pressure
