Compliance Analyst

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of Compliance professionals providing Compliance enabling support and risk mitigation advisory to various Swiss Re entities across APAC. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Compliance Analyst based in Beijing.  You will be responsible for identifying and assessing Compliance risks within the business, as well as providing training and awareness on key Compliance topics. You will report to the Head Compliance Reinsurance China and support in the successful delivery of the Compliance objectives. The role requires frequent interaction with various internal stakeholder in the business, operations and control functions. 

The principle accountabilities include:

  • Carry out Compliance activities in alignment with the Compliance Programme

  • Provide training and awareness to local staff on Compliance topics

  • Communicate Compliance requirements to business colleagues and support with the development of related processes

  • Advocate adherence to Compliance Policies & Standards and promote ethical behaviours

  • Support with the preparation and submission of Compliance and regulatory reports both internally and externally

  • Respond to queries from the business on Compliance related topics, acting as both a business enabler and a control function

  • Participate in, and contribute to, wider regional and global initiatives to support delivery of the Annual Compliance Plan

  • Monitor regulatory developments and develop subject matter expertise on local regulatory requirements and Swiss Re Policies & Standards

About the you

  • University or equivalent qualification

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Compliance, risk management, operations, audit or related areas for insurance or financial institutions

  • Solid understanding of risk management programmes, particularly Compliance risks, and knowledge of regulatory environment

  • Excellent decision making, problem solving and analytical skills

  • Team player with strong communication, interpersonal and cross-cultural skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written and spoken English

  • Experience in an international environment a plus

The Compliance APAC team consists of professionals based in various locations across APAC who are passionate about delivering outstanding enabling and risk mitigation support to internal stakeholders to ensure business is conducted in a compliant and ethical manner. You will work closely with these colleagues and also have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across other regions as part of a global division.
