Data Analyst/Business Analyst

About the Role

In this role you will have the following key business responsibilities:
•    Design, map, code, and test onboarding of client datasets
•    Perform data quality checks during data ingestion to ensure that end users can use the client data with minimal downstream enrichments
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to optimize business processes 
•    Analyze and determine best path for solving business opportunities/issues which may include process improvements, application/system enhancements and/or end-user training 
•    Conduct data analysis to answer specific business questions or to support new initiatives

 

About the Team

The Data Management & Insights [DMI] team is part of Business Excellence delivering on the promise of a stable end-to-end operating platform for Life & Health Reinsurance. The DMI team's mission is to make data accessible to stakeholders by acquiring and ingesting client data systematically through our systems. The team also utilizes advance analytics techniques to create insights that generate additional value for L&H (Life & Health) Re. The team operates with a continuous improvement mindset to make data, systems, and processes better not only for their own use but also for their stakeholders.

 

About You

•    Bachelor of Science degree with 5 years of relevant experience
•    Proficient in SQL, and Python coding
•    Proficient in data mapping, ETL processing, and data integration
•    Knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
•    Good understanding of OSS (Open-Source Software), Dataworks, MaxCompute and other Ali Cloud products
•    Proven strategic, analytical, and conceptual thinking
•    Effective communication skills, and the ability to present complex data and insights to stakeholders clearly and concisely
•    Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese required
