Desk Fac Underwriting Analyst

About the role

Are you a candidate with a strong experience in Facultative re/insurance industry? Are you looking forward to work closely with the Regional facultative underwriter to support them in Pre-underwriting & Post Bind activities. If yes, here is your opportunity to be part of a growing P&C Business Services Facultative team in China.

For this role, you need to have in-depth knowhow about insurance and reinsurance products and markets. Deliver timely and accurate business-processing, operational and technical support to underwriting process for Property & Casualty Facultative Underwriters.

Duties and responsibilities directly impact productivity, process efficiency, timeliness, profitability, and accuracy of the underwriting process. In addition, you are expected to be a good teammate with dedication, eagerness to learn and collaboration skills.

Main tasks/activities/responsibilities

Pre-Underwriting & Post Bind Support:

  • Understand the overall P&C FAC underwriting business process and provide both technical and operational support for APAC's P&C FAC Underwriters
  • Local Language translation on submission, Queries, endorsements, etc,. to assist Bangalore team for further processing.
  • Supporting Pre-underwriting activities, handle submissions, renewal assistance, by performing risk clearing and compliance related checks (AML, ITC, initial screening on Personal data – in line with CBDT requirements). Drive actions on Fac P&C process tools (WIRE, CIH, etc..) as and when needed.
  • Drafting final quotes or contract acceptance, checking final contractual slips with agreed terms & modifications as per Underwriter's instruction.
  • Assist in Post Blind processs((i.e., Contract binding, Endorsement handling, follow up with clients, accounting queries and documentation handling).
  • Checking Contract documents and helping Underwriters in signing & Filing.

XFT Co-ordination / Team Support:

  • Ensure proper coordination with FAC P&C Desk underwriters, FAC Hub Bangalore and other team members on business deliverables.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with your stakeholders, continuously seek feedback for individual and team growth.
  •  Ad-hoc back up support to local Business Operations TA team on key tasks.
  • Audit Support: Facilitate & Assist Desk FAC P&C Audits
  • Bangalore team holiday back up on submission handling & perform urgent task locally if needed.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Support Underwriters with specific reporting requirements as and when required.
  • Help in documentation process aligning to CBDT requirement.

About You

 Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Insurance and Reinsurance industry.
  • Good business communication and cross-cultural skills, both verbal
  • Good command on languages like English and Mandarin is required with listening, written and verbal communication skills
  • Good understanding of Facultative Property/ Casualty insurance principles, wordings with end-to-end underwriting process flow.
  • Understanding on quotation and submission data analysis
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Effective team player with a positive outlook and proven ability to work in globally located team situations, understanding, and demonstrating sensitivity toward cultural differences.
  • Strong customer-focus and service orientation.
  • Adaptability to changes in tasks and priorities.
