Engineering Lead

 

About the Role

As an Engineering lead, you will lead the architectural design and implementation of solutions in Life & Health domain. This role requires an expert with a strong background in software engineering and technologies with insurance and reinsurance domain knowledge. The ideal candidate is a self-driven professional who excels in a dynamic environment and is committed to achieving excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

•  Design and implement scalable, secure cloud architecture for applications and solutions.
• Collaborate with product owners, business teams and multiple IT teams to understand the needs and provide the robust technical solutions including the design, implementation and maintenance.
•  Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices in architecture.
•  Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other team members.
•  Stay updated with the latest industry trends and cloud technologies.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will possess

  • Over 10 years of experience in software engineering with strong fundamentals on data structures, algorithms & architecture patterns including system backend, frontend, app, mini-program and related technologies in large enterprise systems.
  • Substantial Technology background with experience in the delivering IT projects including cloud (Alibaba Cloud, Microsoft Azure, etc.) applications, and knowledge of state-of-the-art technology.
  • Being hands-on Engineer is key to be successful in this role
  • Contribute to technical research and feasibility studies including GenAI capabilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Focus on outcome and getting things accomplished with a strong commitment to quality and timely client service.
  • Have experience leading team members in cross-functional teams, operating effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
  • Combined agile practices with collaborative skills across cultures, geographies and organizational levels.
  • Good communication & presentation skills with proficiency in English and Chinese
  • Commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement. At ease with leaving your comfort zone and dealing with ambiguity.
  • Understanding of insurance/reinsurance business is a must.
  • Understanding the security vulnerabilities and have expertise to remediate them
