About the Role
As a L&H Solutions Underwriting Consultant, you will be accountable for building solutions to help differentiate Swiss Re from the competition. This role requires a high degree of entrepreneurial desire to make a difference, grit and ability to get things done and agility to cope with constant change. You will join a lean team of creative thinkers with a focus on execution. The ideal candidate is innovative, with strong business acumen and technical understanding of risks and mechanics of protection products in China and leverages his/her excellent interpersonal skills to ensure our clients feel our impact and ambition to establish Swiss Re as the partner of choice.
Key Accountabilities:
- Deep Dive into Client Challenges:
- Analyze business pain points in underwriting (UW) and claims processing to design tailored, data-driven solutions.
- Drive Data Innovation:
- Source new data streams and forge partnerships to fuel underwriting innovation and competitive advantage.
- Data-Driven Strategy Formulation:
- Develop adaptive underwriting rules and predictive models leveraging advanced technology
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Serve as the go-to UW consultant, bridging business needs and technical execution across project lifecycles.
- Industry Thought Leadership:
- Engage with industry forums and communities to position Swiss Re as an innovation leader in UW and claims.
- Solution Optimization:
Continuously refine existing solutions to maximize market differentiation and client value.
About the Team
This is a regional team responsible for data-driven underwriting solution's strategy, roadmap and backlog management; working with origination and client markets to maintain robust client pipeline; executing and managing the implementation and day 2 projects for clients; client satisfaction, solution optimisation, adoption and upsell, client data insights, training and ops. The team composes of members based in different locations across Asia.
About You
- A university degree or above, preferably in a medical-related field.
- Over 10 years of experience in underwriting or claims processing.
- A strong sense of responsibility with a proven track record of proactively driving projects to successful completion.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, execution, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
- A collaborative team player and self-starter capable of effectively interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage both short-term and long-term projects simultaneously.
- Motivated, resilient, and results-oriented, with the ability to work collaboratively under pressure and maintain composure in ambiguous situations with a "can-do" attitude.
Curious, enthusiastic, with a keen interest in understanding technological frontiers and solutions to enhance user experience, as well as the application of big medical data and medical AI technologies in the insurance industry.
