About Swiss Re Solutions

 

'Solutions' is a central pillar of the reinsurance strategy, critical both to the development of the core reinsurance activities as well as for developing new revenue streams for Swiss Re. There is an opportunity to leverage the risk knowledge and capital of Swiss Re to create new shareholder value for Swiss Re through Solutions, which ultimately should lead to a valuation uplift.
Solutions are services and platforms delivered to clients that lead to new, more or better business profit generation for Swiss Re that would not happen through our traditional Reinsurance business. Key to the success of this business is our ability to serve/harvest existing clients and win new clients with a scope that extends beyond Swiss Re's traditional reinsurance clients to cover the full scope of all insurance companies and non-insurance partners in adjacent sectors where our risk knowledge can add value.


Solutions help Swiss Re's insurance clients to improve their own portfolio and enable growth. Examples of existing solutions include:
•    Swiss Re's Cat Monitoring tool called CatNet
•    New automated tools and platforms to support the assessment or risks and manage claims
•    Strategic portfolio insights offerings

About the Role

•    Develop and execute on the SR Solutions sales & origination strategy across P&C business in China
•    Responsibility for distribution of P&C Solutions and executing our go to market strategy along with developing the local SSO team
•    Deliver on fee-based income targets as per the annual 3-year rolling business plan
•    Develop and implement the origination strategy in China to achieve targets outline in the business plan
•    Own the China P&C Solutions sales targets and their achievement
•    Demonstrate entrepreneurial initiative and help develop the business and identify new growth opportunities in the market.
•    Ensure distribution and origination partnership compliance across the value chain
•    Deliver the marketing strategy for Solutions in China and position Swiss Re Solutions as a market leader in the provision of innovative risk based fee driven solutions
•    Provide input on client needs and recommend areas with maximum commercial up-side
•    Build new client and segment relationships to expand the reach of the Swiss Re franchise
•    Manage and lead the local SSO team for P&C solutions in China
•    Connect pro-actively with Swiss Re's existing teams, infrastructure, systems and processes
•    Foster a collaborative working relationship across all functions and relevant regional and global teams
•    Develop partner networks / alliances to source new opportunities

 

About the Team

The China SSO team is made up of 2 Reinsurance professionals focused on our existing P&C Solutions strategy and with experience of our solutions suite, reinsurance business, existing client relationships and expanding partner network. The team is active in its support of our wider P&C China business


•    Develop and lead a specialized Solutions sales & origination team in China
•    Develop and nurture our talent to create a leading professional services sales and origination culture
•    Ensure Sales & Origination best practice and KPI's including sourcing of external fee revenue are fulfilled

 

About You

•    10+ years relevant management or leadership experience in either financial or professional services covering business development, sales or product and proposition development
•    Relevant experience and knowledge of P&C insurance in China
•    An established network of contacts across the Chinese market and P&C Insurance exo-system
•    Strong strategic or analytical thinking paired with business/commercial acumen focused on business results
•    Ability to successfully lead and grow a P&L
•    Solid understanding of sales and marketing propositions and got to market strategies and frameworks
•    Demonstrated ability to develop plans to hit target
•    Ability to navigate ambiguity and keep moving ahead despite uncertainty
•    Commercial responsibility in B2B client service and/or Solutions orientated business is a plus
•    Native or fluent Mandarin and fluent English is a must
•    Strong track record of sales team leadership, ideally in the tech solutions space
•    Success in building high performing teams and working in cross functional operating models
•    Strong collaboration and influencing skills, leveraging skills and networks across the organisation
