About the Role

  • Underwriting
    • Analyze and assess technical (re)insurability regarding exposures and coverage on new offer and renewal submissions
    • Develop Structure and pricing skills.
    • Contributes actively to cycle management to maintain/improve our portfolio quality
    • Establish and maintain specific industry sector know-how
  • Product Development
    • Actively originate new business opportunities for Swiss Re
  • Client Facing
    • Interact with brokers and clients to identify business opportunities, document in writing
    • Explore market opportunities and stablish long term relationship with clients and brokers.


About You

Technical Expertise

  • Basic to medium knowledge of the global and local insurance and reinsurance markets.
  • Ability to understand, assess and foresee the clients/market current and future business needs.
  • University degree (commercial and/or technical area)
  • 1 – 3 years experience in insurance and reinsurance industry.
  • Knowledge of in portfolio management, statistic & strategic thinking.
  • Pragmatic, flexible but able to make tough decisions under time pressure
  • Other skills: technically assessing insurance risks / own underwriting judgment / enjoying client facing role, etc

  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Ability to work independently with autonomy
  • Excellent networking ability to speak with confidence in public
  • Language skills: good command of English and Spanish
