Business Development Manager

About the role  

 

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office two to three days per week on average. 

   

We are seeking an experienced business development individual with a strong insurance background. In this role, your will identify and pursue new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand the company's customer base and increase revenue.

 

You will be responsible for prospectingnegotiating, and signing new distribution partnership agreements to grow sales year over year. You will work to ensure success from on-boarding through launch and continue to develop the relationship as the partnership and business grows over time.

 

You will manage, report and track distribution partner results against our target KPIs and be held accountable for delivering on those targets.

We are a mature start-up unit, established to deliver innovative protection insurance solutions sold through partners to consumers.  Our team delivers the coordination, infrastructure and competences that are key to driving forward this new business, working closely with our partners and clients.  

   

About You

  • Minimum of 7+ years' experience in building strategic partnerships in the Life & Health insurance space, particularly in the middle market
  • Sound knowledge of the insurance industry/common practices for individual L&H insurance products.
  • You use qualitative and quantitative approach to evaluate new business opportunities
  • You have solid experience in tactical sale strategies, and you are comfortable with aggressive timelines & targets
  • Fantastic communication /ability to "tell the story", critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort working in a start-up environment where the pace is fast where the team is continuously evolving
  • You are a team player and build an atmosphere of co-operation

 

 

 

For Armonk, NY, the estimated base salary range for this position is $143,000 to $256,000.  The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.  At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
