About the Role:

 

As an Underwriting Solutions Analyst, you will have an opportunity to join a team that is responsible for driving initiatives to improve the underwriting strategy at iptiQ. This role will report to the Head of Underwriting with the objective of increasing the ability to accelerate high quality underwriting decisions through the analysis of risk and data analytics. This highly collaborative team also has accountabilities for the creation and management of underwriting guidelines, monitoring of underwriting performance and product development.

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Work with Head of Underwriting to support and oversee the underwriting strategy for life and/or supplemental health products
  • Analyze underwriting and claims data with the intention to make recommendations to underwriting guidelines
  • Participate in the research of new data products for potential implementation into the underwriting rules engine
  • Assist in the ongoing monitoring of mortality and morbidity performance across the product portfolio
  • Support the development of the underwriting strategy for the introduction of new products
  • Aiding on projects with Pricing, Product, Sales, New Business Operations & Data Analytics to achieve company goals of profit and growth

About You:

 

KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • 5+ years of experience in a production environment with exposure to individual Life Underwriting and/or Supplemental Health/Medicare Supplement products
  • Exposure to underwriting rule engines and data products
  • Knowledge of underwriting regulatory differences by state
  • Experience with impaired risk and reinsurance a plus
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or am equivalent combination of professional related work experience
