About The Team

About the Role

 

We are seeking a para-legal to join our team reporting to the Head of Legal

 

  • The role offers the rare opportunity to grow and learn in a creative and growing business seeking to reinvent the traditional insurance space.
  • Responsibilities and knowledge/experience are likely to include:
  • Seek to off-load routine legal work or administrative tasks and responsibilities from the four-person legal team;
  • Be the lead contact between distribution partners, sales and legal for distribution agreements; review and approve changes to standard provisions within guidelines; advance non-routine changes to legal team;
  • Lead the legal team SharePoint site; upload documents; prioritize the catalogue and bring your organizational skills to make it more user friendly;
  • Coordinate, update and distribute all template agreements such as distribution agreements and NDAs;
  • Conduct legal research on selected areas of law; ability to research and prepare 50 state summaries of select insurance laws; and
  • Craft forms, contracts, and processes to build and ensure a scalable business that can fulfill its mission and purpose.

About You

 

  • Have strong written and oral communications skills (power point knowledge would be a plus).
  • Have basic contract drafting skills.
  • Have some knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Have a keen attention to detail.
  • You demonstrate emotional intelligence, pragmatism, a business enabling mind-set, communication skills, curiosity and resilience.
  • You work independently while balancing the need to collaborate and maintain an appropriate level of communication and coordination with the of rest your peers.
  • You are ethical, professional and act with integrity.
  • You are willing to take on all tasks no matter how routine or how ambitious.

Work location: Armonk, New York or  Boston, MA
