(Senior) Underwriter Facultative Property
About the Role

Your job will focus on originating, evaluating, and underwriting facultative property business for the CEE/CIS markets in close collaboration with your team. You will be able to assess a wide range of risk types with your experience and by utilizing state-of-the-art models. Your role will be complemented by fostering and developing client and broker relationships.
You will collaborate with key account managers, client managers, market underwriters and treaty underwriters in a cross-functional team. Together we build on our partnerships with our clients and share our knowledge, with the objective to bring value for the client and Swiss Re. This role offers you lots of space to develop own ideas and find creative solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluation, underwriting and conclusion of facultative property insurance business primarily for the CEE/CIS markets
- Developing client and broker relationships to achieve Swiss Re's vision and create value for our clients
- Cooperation with risk-engineering, contracts, client managers as well as treaty underwriters in a cross-functional team
- Developing strategies to expand our position on current accounts and to cross-sell other lines of business
About the Team
As an integral part of Facultative EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), we're a diverse and international team of experienced underwriters with long-standing relationships into our markets, building on a very high level of single risks underwriting expertise and with a strong track record. The team serves the markets from our offices in Bratislava, Munich and Zurich. We're looking to complement and strengthen our team with someone bringing experience in underwriting, a fresh view, and innovative ideas as well as an entrepreneurial spirit and energy.
Join our team! We are looking for a highly motivated, ambitious Senior Underwriter Facultative Property for the Northern, Central and Eastern Europe desk covering the CEE/CIS markets.
About you
- 8+ years of experience in underwriting or broking of insurance, or reinsurance of Commercial and Industrial Property Risks
- Excellent understanding of Single Risk Assessment and Underwriting including direct insurance know-how
- Strong technical skills including industry-specific exposure and business interruption know-how as well as fire protection, and single risk natural hazard/protection fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of property wordings and contract topics
- University degree preferably in Economics, Engineering or Law.
- Broad network into the insurance world across clients and brokers in Central and Eastern Europe
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient in English
- Willingness for international travel
- You are persistent, pragmatic and strive for solutions
- You are attracted by working in an international environment and are an outstanding teammate
Depending on your experience, this position can either be a Senior Underwriter or a Underwriter position.

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 3300 and EUR 5400 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
