Audit Director Operations & Change
About the Role
As Audit Director for Operations & Change you have responsibility for all audit work related to Swiss Re's activities in Operations, HR, Legal & Compliance, as well as audit work related to projects and transformation, supporting the delivery of independent assurance to the Board of Directors of Swiss Re Group and relevant Legal Entities. This role is an opportunity to deal with themes that have organizational impact and drive the risk culture of Swiss Re, while also developing strong Operations & Change expertise in your audit team.
Key responsibilities:
1. Shape & drive the business
• You proactively assess risks related to Operations, HR, Legal & Compliance, as well as projects and transformation to form an opinion on the assurance priorities, ensuring appropriate audit coverage in these areas. Your risk assessment is based on the deep understanding of Swiss Re's business, the regulatory developments, and the strategy of Swiss Re.
• You steer the audit teams to remain critical and independent, whilst at the same time ensuring that the risk perspective is balanced with the risk view of the business.
• You build and maintain a trusted relationship with key stakeholders and in your interaction with them, you proactively raise issues and deliver impactful messages. You are a sparring partner to management, supporting them in their risk mitigation for deficiencies identified through discussion or on audits, and providing impactful and forward-looking audit opinion.
2. People leadership
• You are a Catalyst Leader who has a passion for people, a proven ability to navigate complex people situations while having a significant impact on the personal and professional development of the team.
• You recognize and communicate the importance of the value of assurance that is delivered to the audit committee whilst at the same time recognize the importance of insights that can be provided to the organization on how the control environment can be developed and improved.

About the Team
GIA provides independent and objective assurance that assists the Board of Directors and Group Executive Committee to protect the assets, reputation, and sustainability of the organization. GIA's vision is to advance Swiss Re's resilience through assurance that is responsive to risk and providing the business with innovative insights to help strengthen the control environment and achieve its objectives.
About You
You will possess the following education, experience and capabilities:
• 12+ years of work experience in audit or other relevant roles, ideally within the insurance/reinsurance industry at a senior level
• Leadership experience, in a global, matrix driven organization
• Strong understanding of risk, control, and governance with a proven track record to act as an agent of change in building effective and efficient control systems
• Strong knowledge, understanding and technical background of Operations, and experience with transformational processes and projects
Nice to haves:
• CPA, CA, CIA or other relevant professional certification
Personal skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment
• Critical thinker that sees the "big picture" (e.g. overall themes, trends, goals), generates innovative ideas and solutions to problems and makes recommendations in the face of complexity, conflicting pressures and ambiguous circumstances
• Impact/Value oriented leader, able to plan well, willing to coach and work in the field and able to deliver value adding results in time
• Inspirational leader, dedicated team player, able to listen and guide
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 5,800 and EUR 9,700 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
• the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
