Business Analyst (Hybrid)

About the role

 

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing reporting needs, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset.


The Business Analyst focus is on requirements analysis, design & build of the reports, regulatory disclosures and other analytical tasks. The ideal candidate will leverage their investment expertise, as the position will interact with various finance (like GIR and Asset Management) and gain a deep understanding of the Finance Investment reporting processes. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for on-going reporting, accuracy, quality and ensuring the integrity of the standard reporting product.


You will enable and implement the Investment Finance Reporting vision and ensure best practice standards are met. You will translate requirements for Reporting acting as a conduit between the teams and the implementation service delivery partners.

 

Accountabilities will include: 
•    Your area of expertise within the broader Global Finance Operations&Transformation Reporting Solution teams lies in the IFRS operational reporting for Investment Subledger as focus, furthermore also in regulatory reporting and statutory reporting.
•    Act as subject matter expert for Investment Reporting around IFRS Valuation (especially IFRS 9 and its disclosures) and guide team members and mentor juniors.
•    Manage the reporting aspects of daily reporting needs and quarterly financial close in the subledger.
•    Liaise and coordinate with the team members to make sure all implementations follow guiding principles, aligned with the target architecture and standardization concept.
•    Define and ensure consistent reporting capabilities based on SAP S/4HANA Financial Products Subledger and Analysis for Office (AfO), as well as other Reporting Tools.
•    Partner closely with IT colleagues to follow their guidance on reporting architecture, data modelling, report design and performance related topics.
•    Provide business prototypes leading to end-to-end solutions.
•    Ensure best practice methods are adhered to, reports are well documented, training and support documentation are provided.
•    Ensure communication within the team and across the organization.

We are a diverse team based out of Zürich, Bratislava and Bangalore, committed to bring alive the Finance of the Future within the Group Finance Operations & Transformation (GFO&T) organization.  We transform our Finance operating model by standardizing, automating and integrating our Reporting & Processes along the Value Chain.
We foster innovation by driving Business Use Cases in the areas of User Experience and Data Management. 
We work cross functionally with our colleagues in Finance, IT, and all other departments to eliminate silos. We therefore value effective communication skills on top of technical skills. 

The Investment Reporting team will be newly centralized in Bratislava. working within the Finance Reporting Solutions product area to deliver performant, scalable, and maintainable solutions that enable our stakeholders to quickly extract knowledge from large and disparate financial datasets. Our solutions support financial reconciliation, steering and auditing based primarily from subledger data on the SAP S/4 HANA and Microsoft Azure Data and Palantir Foundry platforms. You will act as a business lead within this team, with end-to-end responsibility, such as development & maintenance as well as operations along the full life cycle, for our team's solutions. This includes the design and implementation of functionalities that enable fast and reliable reporting of data. Specifically, you will need to understand the standard use of SAP S/4 HANA and other platforms for analytical purposes, collaborating with customers as well as contributing to and fostering best practices and standards for your area of expertise.

 

About you

 

Essential:
•    Business Analyst for Investment Subledger Reporting with a proven delivery record as a business analyst (in SAP landscape).
•    Investment Finance expertise and reporting and accounting knowledge, focused on IFRS, Financial Statements and Disclosure (for legal entities localization)
•    Proven expert knowledge in various Reporting & Analytics technologies with a focus on SAP and Microsoft and Palantir.
•    Hands-on experience with designing and implementing reporting and advanced analytics solutions for IFRS.
•    Show well-structured, analytical thinking and the ability to explain process clearly and understandably to a non-technical audience.

 

Other: 
•    Basic functional knowledge of SAP S/4 modules, preferably Financials Product Subledger (FPSL) or Bank Analyzer.
•    Strong experience in all phases of the Analytics solution development process including requirements gathering, architecture design, implementation, testing and documentation.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience working in an agile environment.
•    Able to deal with ambiguity and influence positive outcomes.
•    Pro-active, forward-looking mind set and exceptional delivery focus.
•    A bachelor’s degree in either Accounting, business or computer/IT science is required.
•    Experience in Finance at Swiss Re or with other major players in the re/-insurance, banking or financial services industry, ideally with consulting background.
•    Excellent command of English, and any other language is a plus.

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 2,100 and EUR 3,400 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:​
•    the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
•    the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.
